Do you take medication? (for disorders?)

I'm definitely going to talk with my doctor, I see her in 2 days, so hopefully we can work on finding something that can help me out c:
I typically don't take medication other than my normal pain killer for headaches and that's only when I need it and birth control. Since having a child I was always scared of taking something that made me drowsy, I'd feel horrible if I knocked out and something was to happen, even minimal.

I've only just decided to take it because I'm seeing little to no resolution to my constant anxiety, and it's affecting all of my other relationships as well, if anything is getting worse and I'm just left feeling guilty for my actions :s
I'm going to be very stern on not having anything that makes me drowsy, and hopefully something to boost my energy a bit.

It's nice reading everyones experiences it gives me a bit of what I can expect.

Antidepressants. They're not too strong so I still get my lows once in a while but they're not bottomless pit-low as they used to be. I'm kinda scared of medicines but getting on these was one of the best things I've ever done. Having your life back feels good. <3

I do take something's to sleep, mostly 5-10mg of melatonin plus this stuff my doctor gave me for restless movements.

I've been on 50mg of pristiq for almost a year now. Prior to that I was on citalopram, which I had to up my dosage after six weeks, then started making my anxiety worse.

I am almost afraid to increase my dosage. My first week on pristiq was horrible. I didn't sleep at all, I had nasty head aches. I ended up taking a week off of work because it was just too hard on my body.

i'm sorry to hear it's been so tough on you! see what your doctor recommends - if you do end up coming off it / switching to something else, try and taper off reeeeally slowly. i'm sure your doc will tell you this, but pristiq has some nasty withdrawal effects, so take your time (and try and decrease your dose on weekends so you have a couple days to get over the worst bits)

hope things start looking better for you soon!

sertraline (an antidepressant that works over a long amount of time) and quetiapine (an antipsychotic that helps me sleep)

I'm not taking anything for my mental illnesses but I take tramadol and muscle relaxers for severe physical pain.

I took anti depressants for a few months and they made me suicidal. I havent taken any drugs since.

yup, ativan and prozac. prozac has the worst side effects, apparently it has caused my bulimia

I've tried multiple antidepressants, the ones I'm on now (Mirtazipine I think it's spelled) is the only one I've found that worked.
It's a sedative included in it to help me sleep, all I do now is just increase the dosage when needed.
Have been on them years along with many other medications for my autoimmune condition and all the damage that has done.
It's not ideal but medication is certainly necessary for some people. It's just about finding what suits you, don't be worried to keep changing until you find the right one

I've started a low dose of celexa(hope I'm spelling it right), and so far it has been good. My doctor was very sweet and listened, so it doesn't make me drowsy at all and actually gives me a bit of energy which is much needed. I've been taking it at night to make sure it didn't make me drowsy but I may switch it to daytime.
