• Guest, can you feel the love in the air? Valentine's Week at The Bell Tree has begun with a new mini-event featuring four activities to enjoy -- new and returning collectibles are up for grabs! Dive in to the love here.

Do you take your time on Happy Home Paradise or just run through it?

I take so much time that only now I was given the "task" to bring some crafting materials to Niko. And I've been playing the DLC since it dropped it. I knew I wanted to take a slower approach because we won't get anything else, so I'm enjoying every little minute of this game.

I really take my time.

I'm not good at decorating and in part because I tend to reuse the same layout ideas can get frustrated quickly. I try to limit myself to one per day (unless if there is another home I really want to do) and that's kept it entertaining to me. And, if I'm too busy that day I'm playing I don't build anything.

I think in total I've done 10 builds, maybe?

Rushed it the first time I played. The goal of my first playthrough was to complete my catalog with the new 2.0 items and unlock the extra features that carry over to my main game. With that out of the way, I'm now slowly re-decorating all those houses/facilities at my own pace.

It depends on the situation. Generally, I do take my time with each one. However, sometimes I'm just not really feeling a request and just sort of throw together something I'm happy with that looks reasonable and move onto the next place.

I’m taking my time with it, so much so I still haven’t unlocked the last two public buildings or had DJ KK host a party on the beach. I’m sure I’ll get to those points in the game eventually but for now I’m still happy to play HHP when the mood to design vacation homes hit me.

It depends on the villager, if it's one I like I tend to spend more time on it but if I'm just in for the poki, I will make it look decent but pretty basic.

I am 100% taking my time on both the free & paid dlc. I learnt the hard way from the 3ds amiibo update that if i try to complete everything so quick the game sadly starts to get repetitive which i really dont want as i truly love every single title which has been released (bar amiibo festival👀). I think to date ive done 20 renovations including the school & restaurant and im in no rush to reach any other milestones (40,50,80,100etc)

I definitely rushed through it, since I got the final designer title within a month of starting HHP, and got almost all villagers (minus Sanrio because lol amiibos) a home on my archipelago in just over a month before it bugged out with the final 4. I don't necessarily have a problem with having done so, I was curious to figure out what was unlocked along the way, and that drove me towards just grinding the homes out to find out, with no sense of purpose to actually build a fulfilling home for most of the villagers.

Knowing what I do now, if I was to do it all over again I wouldn't have done that grind to get to 403 villagers and the GOAT Designer title that quickly and would've just taken my time with each villager instead, but at the same time I don't regret having done it. It's not like the homes are one and done, you're free to redecorate it any time you wish, which I'm sure I will do later on for multiple villagers whenever the mood and any sort of inspiration strikes me.

I only just did the second facility so I think I'm around 11 or 12 houses maybe. I probably spend up to half an hour on houses and up to an hour on facilities trying different things.

For me, this approach has been enjoyable and different than how I play most other games. My usual approach is to play a game daily until I finish it, but I like having this around to revisit between other games or when I just want to relax.

absolutely, I do take my time. the other day I actually spent about 45 minutes just working on one house's interior and exterior. I usually spend about 20-30 min on each one. I've only finished like 3 facilities and 15 homes or something so far lol

if it's a villager or request i love then i can spend well over an hour on one house, otherwise it's around 30 minutes or less. the facilities are what i struggle with the most, whenever i do a renovation it can take well over 3 hours if i'm being really picky

I mostly rushed through everything. There were a few homes I took my time and planned out nicely, but I wanted to unlock editing my villager homes asap because I hate Bob's mustard house. lol My boi deserves his rightful purple palace, thank you.

Well for me I just hit 100 homes and I ranked up to "Legendary Designer" and now I can earn 30,000 Poki. Just need one more Rank and then I'll be done. Earing Poki will become so much easier for me to buy the new items especially the ones that are pretty expensive like the Throne Chair for example.

I literally ran through everything because I was desperate to get the house exterior renovating unlocked. Having to choose between the villagers you really like and getting a cohesive town theme was very difficult, and I understand it might have been done that way to preserve their personalities, I was super glad it wasn't an obstacle anymore. I do regret rushing it a little bit now, especially because I'm not very good at decorating the home interiors and I feel like I could use the practice. But I also know that the dlc will be there when I want to do things properly and take my time with the homes of villagers I really like.

I am the opposite — I am progressing VERY slowly because if things don't look perfect (to my standards), I get super stressed out lol. I just hit 10 homes 😛

I think I need to take the opposite approach and just have fun with it, rather than feeling like I've ACTUALLY been contracted to design someone's home. I'm stressing like my paycheck is on the line LMAO
🤣 This is so me! I have to remind myself there's no end of year performance check happening here.

I've never just dumped the three or two items in the house to progress in the DLC, but I did spend a lot of time playing so I reached the 30 benchmark quicker than a lot of people
because I wanted to unlock the villager house remodel feature
.

After reaching 30, I would do anywhere between 0 - 2 houses a day depending on how inspired I felt. ☺

it depends on two things for me.
1. the character - if it's someone i like or who has lived on my island before, i take a bit of extra care
2. the prompt - i know you can come up with your own but i like working with the order list so if this has very limited selections i kind of get uninspired and just plop down the essentials. but if the prompt is good i could spend and hour or more on a plot.

I take my time on it, its better to take your time on HHP or else you'll have nothing left to do if you do everything

This may sound weird but when I get to the point when I see nothing but villagers I don't like at the resort I just call it a day and of course when it gets late in the day thats when I know when to stop.

I don’t own this game anymore, and even if I did I likely wouldn’t have the DLC. I wouldn’t play enough to justify it, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I would rush through it. I would want to rush through it to complete and unlock everything there is. However, I would advocate for people to take their time and soak everything in. Rushing through things is how people get burned out so quickly. I can’t take my own advice with this, but I can still state it and maybe someone will listen? 😅
