I do ocassionally. Normally I just talk to myself in my head if that makes sense rather than doing it out loud.
I was once told by somebody I worked with that talking to yourself and talking to your pets (which I assumed pretty much everybody did) was a sign of a personality disorder....just one of the most bizarre things I've ever heard.
Wow I'm surprised so many people do that. I rarely talk to myself. The only time I do that out loud is when I'm around other people. Sometimes I try it when I'm alone and it just feels weird, haha!
Not very often since I'm very rarely alone and it's kinda awkward to talk to yourself in front of other people, but sometimes when I'm alone. Although I more often than not just think to myself, but occasionally it's out loud. I either say silly stuff or reassuring stuff, usually.
Mostly in my head, and sometimes when I talk to myself in my head I end up having full blown or almost full blown arguments or conversations. But when I talk to myself out loud it usually isn't intentional. Mostly mumbling, about what I'm gonna do or about to do. For example, I may start mumbling "Alright, I'm gonna vacuum and then I might have enough time to do this..."
I also talk a lot to myself out loud when upset. Curse words are almost always said out loud...
Whenever I have a bad or embarrassing thought stuck in my head that I want to get rid of, I hum, swear, or mumble random words under my breath. It doesn't usually work, but it's a habit of mine.
And I talk to myself in my mind all the time. In fact, my mind is a pretty screwed up place. I hope we never get mind reading technology because I'd probably end up in a mental institute if someone were to ever read my thoughts.
