I doubt it, but I wish they would. Because it was never like this in past games. It’s a really stupid setup they’ve got that’s clearly just to force people to buy multiple switches for one household. Think about it: in acnl, one game card could only have one town on it, right? So if you wanted another one, what could you do? Did you have to buy another console? No, of course not, that’d be ridiculous. You could just buy another separate game, so you’d have two islands, one on each cartridge (In fact, I literally did this; I’ve got two acnl cartridges). But if you buy another acnh cartridge on the switch, it doesn’t give you another island. Because game save data isn’t stored on cartridges anymore, it’s saved on the actual console. But that’s why they gave us profiles for different family members, right? But not for acnh apparently? It’s not like this for any other switch games; take Zelda Breath of the Wild or Pokémon SwSh for instance. You can have multiple saves in those games as long as it’s on a different account profile, right? So... why not ACNH? It’s actually so dumb, it infuriates me.
edit: in terms of how much memory it’d take, that’d just cause people to buy more memory cards from them. but nope, they’d rather force people to buy a whole other switch I guess.
