If you currently have a job, either part time or full time, what do you do for work? I work for the Canadian federal government doing office tasks like data entry, dealing with invoices, etc. I really love my job and being around my coworkers. Only thing I dislike is what's called the Phoenix pay system. It doesn't work very well, especially for new employees.

Use to, but haven't since I moved because of a glaring legal complication of moving somewhere else.
(Should of taken care of it right away but forgot, and now it's a real thorn in my side.)
Having to depend on someone else for basically everything is honestly the worst, I can't wait to have it sorted.

I used to work part-time for a big delivery corporation, it was a really bad environment though and I ultimately had to leave even though the pay was good because I'd end up stressed and crying when I got home. :) but I know there's something better out there for me so I'm still looking!

Working at a restaurant currently as a seasonal job when I’m not in university. I’ve worked retail at a grocery store in the past as well.

I teach piano and voice lessons part time but I kind of want to quit because it's super unorganized and stressful and I don't really like my boss, I'm too scared to quit though

I know this is a bit off topic but I just wanted to talk about the Phoenix pay system.

The system was made by IBM, specifically contracted for the Canadian government. It was making good progress. Here was one big issue though: when it was still barely functioning, the government decided to use it even though IBM told them not to use it yet. So the government spend millions of dollars on a piece of software that wasn't done yet, and then lost millions more in productivity because someone in charge decided to go ahead with it anyway.

According to the auditor general, the issues with the system started at the very beginning with poor management of the infrastructure and who knows what else. Goes to show that the government is incompetent with regards to contractor work time and time again.

But no, I don't work right now. I do work terms in between my schooling, but I'm a full time student right now.

Cool! I work at the translation bureau in Gatineau. It's funny since I work in Quebec but live in Ontario. Gonna make tax time interesting.

I work in the grocery stores bakery department... for now. I need a new job because in the 8 months I've worked there, there's absolutely no way I can have an adult life with the shotty hours I get.

I'm an illustrator for children's books, posters, logos, etc. from home. I've had other jobs, but those didn't work as I was primarily my mum's caretaker starting at age 17 when she had her stroke. So, while I am now job-hunting, I'm continuing my work at home.

No, as I want to concentrate on school right now. Besides babysitting, I’ve only had one job at a fast food restaurant. I might try to find another job if my next semester is not as busy

I?m in my third year working at a library & this summer I?m going to be looking for a second job as a server to save up money.

I'm in Western Canada. I was just in Ottawa actually. It's very much a business environment. I'm not bilingual, but I find there are very few people that use french

I'm regular time at a grocery store, specifically in the produce section
I really like working in produce, but hate the rest of the store lol

I work as a shelver in the main library on my college campus. I actually really enjoy it since it's a pretty relaxed job with really flexible hours, but because I'm not doing work study I'm only allowed to work 6 hours a week ($8.60/hr. I don't get paid a lot rip). I would look for a better paying job but I can't afford to, being a hardworking and easily stressed college student.

i'm gay and i work at mcdonalds
Being gay has nothing to do with McDonald's I believe. Or does it...?

I used to be a system engineer at my university. Then after awhile my brain literally stopped working at all when I knew my bf at the time had been deceiving me and being unfaithful. I left my job, afforded myself by chipping away the saving for a year or so. Then after sometime I inherited a few islands my father was owning when he passed away. It wasn't positive property but negative one as it wasn't making much profit but just costing to keep running the farm, and the pay for the tax. But someone had to inherit it 'cause or else the legal process of inheritance wouldn't move forward and we'd get stuck. None of my siblings wanted to inherit it so I did.
So now I'm running some farms. I worked hard these past couple years, to improve the management status, now it just started getting better, slightly making profit and by that I'm affording myself and a couple others I care about. That's my job.
