Does anybody else LIKE the fact that the villagers are nicer in New Leaf?

I don't really mind it. ._. I love ACPG, don't get me wrong, it's my first and favorite AC game, and always will be, but. I don't mind the NL convos/personalities at all. Yeah, ACPG's conversations were chop full of variety, and different personalities, but after playing it for SO long, NL is sort of a breath of fresh air to me. My ACPG town was drown with snooties and crankies, so they always had something mean and rude to say to me. I didn't mind it then, and I don't mind it now, but I like being approached by unfathomable kindness from my NL villagers. Like you said, a lot of people are jerks in real life. It's great to be able to escape into a world with happy and kind, adorable little animals.
ACPG never 'taught me any lessons', when it comes to the way the villagers acted. It didn't affect me at all. Their abrasiveness and anger didn't 'teach me that there are bad people out there'. It's a game, for gosh sake. I went to it as an escape, to go away from the bad things people said to me at school when I was little. It sort of irritated me when I'd do nice things for my crankies and snooties and all they would do was complain. In fact, it made me feel like I wasn't good enough. Weird, I know, but I was very little back then. And now, my villagers are sweet, and kind, and friendly, and I feel at ease when I play. Not stressed out.

ACNL's villager personalities are a lot different than the other games, but we just have to except that. AC game's can't be exactly the same. They had to change things up eventually when it comes to villager-interactions.
