Does anyone else still have a launch day island?

Yep! I'm too emotionally attached to restart now, even if I wanted to. A friend and I went and picked up our pre-orders on the way home, then we started our islands together. :)

I still have my launch day island and I haven't missed a single day since I created it on launch day. I don't play it as much as I used to, but I still log onto it each day, check on everybody, and do a few tasks for the day. It's become part of my daily routine.

Yep! I honestly canโ€™t imagine starting over and I am too attached to my island.

I dont, i reset it once i made my second island my main which was started in june 2020. Part of me kinda regrets deleting it..

Yes, still and will probably always have my launch day island. I am way too attached and although the idea of starting again sounds good, i just love the sentimentality of NH. I have spent so many hours, spent precious hours with friends it is just so lovely to pick up the game and remember special times and special people ๐Ÿ’œ

I didn't get the game on launch day since it was a Christmas gift. I do, however, still have the same island registered on that very day. I'd never delete it, even though it's pretty much finished now and there isn't much left for me to do.

I didn't get the game on launch day, but I've had the same island since I started playing a few months later.

Yes! I will never reset my island ever

Yes I do! :) Mum and I both started on Launch day 2020, well evening here in Australia :) Took me a while to get Apples and an island I liked :) We still have the CE switch that they are on, in Southern Hemisphere. In 2022, we wanted to start an island in the Northern Hemisphere, but didn't have the heart to delete our current islands. So second switches for each of us it was! It was when the next wave of CE ACNH switches were released again here in Australia, so I went out and hunted down 2 more for us :) Mum was so happy :) We've been playing on this 2nd one more so than the last, as we enjoyed having snow at Christmas and summer/greener times when it was cold in real life.

I do!! Technically started March 19 rather than March 20 because ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Honestly kinda forgot I started on launch day

I will never restart it

Mine was started on the release date, curious if anyone else still has theirs :D

I do.

Information on this island, ร“hana, is in my signature.

It is complete. I am pleased. I continue to play it.

i havenโ€™t touched my game since early this year lol, but i still have a launch day island! my island was created sometime in the afternoon on march 20th 2020, and iโ€™ve stuck with it ever since. :โ€™)

iโ€™m kinda tempted to reset sometimes since iโ€™m not the biggest fan of my islandโ€™s layout anymore, but how far iโ€™ve come with my game, all the memories attached to my island, and the fact that itโ€™s a launch day island deters me. iโ€™m too attached to my island to ever reset, even though the layout is kinda frustrating lol

I do! It's 2024, and still the exact island I started with the day the game came out!

Of course, I share the island, and nobody else wants to reset, so I can't. But I probably wouldn't reset at this laye point. Flatten and redesign, but not reset. I've put so much into it, cataloguing, the villagers, hhp, the museum.

I think I'd cry if I had to start all over. And with all of the terraforming options, there's only one reason I would ever actually start over, and that's my offset resident services. But even fixing that wouldn't make it worth resetting.

I still have my island from the launch day but I have completely changed it so many times it looks like a completely different island every time.

Well, my island was not born on March 20th 2020, as I ordered the physical game online and it came a day late (thanks UPS...). Despite not officially claiming to have a launch day island, my island was created the day after on March 21st, and I've never reset it since.

I'd say I'm still in that "OG player" category because of how early I started. Compare that to New Leaf, where I began playing it in late 2018, way beyond its popularity peak. Ironically enough, despite me playing NH for now close to four years on and off (including playing every single day for an entire year after the game came out), I never played online during THAT game's popularity peak as I didn't know about TBT at the time and had no friends that played it regularly. Once the next game drops, whenever that will be, you can bet that I'll take advantage of its multiplayer features because of the users I know here.

Technically, yes. But it wasn't my island, it originally belonged to my sister, who gave me her switch after I managed to completely shatter my own. When she learned what I did, she gave me her own switch as she said she never played it anymore. I didn't want to do all the tedious tutorial stuff again, so I just flattened her island, evicted the residents and populated it entirely with bears and cubs. If she suddenly decides she wants it back, I will fight her and I will win ๐Ÿ’ช

No, sadly. My previous launch day island was stuck in limbo on my old Switch and I could never recover it. I thought about just waiting until the next AC game but decided for the better to make a new island. Its been interesting so far. The island grew a lot faster on my second time thanks to already knowing mechanics, access to swimsuit, etc. Even though I am satisfied with my current island, I was really proud that I almost got all of the achievements. Now it probably won't be possible but at least I am having fun and doing things at my own pace.
