Does anyone know if Japanese Animal Crossing amiibo cards would work?

Hello everyone!

I would like to know if anyone knows if the Japanese Animal Crossing amiibo cards would work? For reference I live in Canada, I'm wondering if it'll recognize the card at all?

Yeah, I've bought cards from France and a few other places and it's all good.

Thankfully the data for amiibo cards aren't locked! I use the Japanese Welcome Amiibo set for my ACNL game and I have amiibo figurines I bought from Japan that I use with my Switch.

As others have said, they should work. I have a mix of amiibo figures and amiibo cards from both the U.S. and Japan. I have never had any problems using U.S. figures or cards on a Japanese version of a game (have tried on 3DS, Wii U, Switch) or using Japanese figures or cards on a U.S. version of a game (have tried on 3DS, Switch). It shouldn't matter what region the cards are from.
