The only thing I've found (since no one has seen perfect fruit yet) is the assumption that your native fruit will be the first fruit type furniture you can craft.

Aside from that, does it matter? I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth resetting for.

Thanks in advance

it likely doesn’t really matter besides from that so it really all depends on what you personally want

me too :^( i've been trying to find this out as well but haven't had any luck yet. i wanted to go for cherries or oranges, but i picked mostly on the looks.. i'll just stick with whatever tho if it doesn't really matter

Fruit never really mattered to me. I do like have oranges as my native fruit, but I won't reset for it.

Honestly, I'm just gonna settle with whatever fruit I get when I come across an island I like. Perfect fruit or not, all the fruit look decent in New Horizons, and I can just grow Apples whenever I come across some.

It only matters to me if perfect fruit will be returning, and even then not too much. I don't really want oranges or pears, but I'd be happy with everything else.

I'm going with Apples because honestly they're the only fruit that I like or can eat (allergic to pears, hate cherries, not fond of peach/orange texture). But I am going to be wicked disappointed if there's no Perfect Fruit.

i want the butts.

He touched the butt

Your native fruit will be worth less than foreign fruit if they go by the way things are like in the other games. Your passport will also include your fruit type (but that’s just an aesthetic thing)

I believe your native fruit shows up on your passport, so if anything you can pick one you would like on that.

I assume fruit trading among friends will get going fairly soon after release, so no worries here.

I do remember when I first started playing New Leaf it was hard to get pears because no one I knew liked them and a lot of people resetting for villagers also reset to not have them. Know that a lot of people will be trying to trade with you the first few days if you have them.

I really like peaches so I am picking apples as my native fruit so I can cover my island in peaches (they will sell for more). I did the same last time but picked oranges

It doesn't really matter to me tbh! It's all down to personal preference. People are gonna be trading for every fruit pretty early in the game anyhow, so if you don't care what fruit is going to be populating your town on day 1, there's no reason to reset for it!

To be honest, it doesn't matter which fruit i get, i'll just be happy to have the game in my grubby little hands ^_^.
Seriously don't get why people are like "ermegherd, i better not get pears!!! So resetting my island if it's pears!!", Lost count how many people i've seen on animal crossing facebook groups who have said this....no stop it! Just fire up new horizons, sit back and enjoy the game!

It is only for aesthetics and something fun! I wouldn't mind if they got rid of perfect fruit honestly. I've been playing a bit of the original Animal Crossing and it is a breath of fresh air to just have regular fruit trees in my town. I honestly haven't even missed having different fruit in my town there yet.

I'm choosing to just have what I roll because it is much more fun for me!
