Has anyone else read the first book in this trilogy? I just finished it today. And now, I didn't read it because of the movie.

I've read all the ones that are out, but I like the first one the best... Probably because of the part where Brom and Eragon travel with Saphira near the beginning... I remember reading that part late at night while listening to "Katamaritaino" and some Lupin III tunes... I always think of Eragon now whenever I listen to those songs.

:P

My favorite part is towards the end when

Spoilers?

Saphira and Arya broke through the crystal when Eragon killed the Shade, and when Eragon met the werecat.

I read it, enjoyed it, and Eldest and all that stuff.

But when I went back to it, I found out some things. The writing flow is really choppy, the story is the epitome of cliche, and almost to the point of sheer plagurisum of Star Wars.(I apologize for the spelling of that word). And Eragon (the character) needs more flaws. He has NO FLAWS! Except the fact that he utterly fails at romance...but that doesn't count. That's stereotypical hero stuff.

Don't flame me, that's my opinion. Either you share it, or you don't. Good day.

They're alright books, but not that good. I agree with Triforce also.

If you want a new Dragon/Fantasy series, go find "His Majesty's Dragon" by Naomi Novik. It's the first of three paperbacks, with more coming.

Spoilers...

Napoleonic Wars with Dragons.

:D Tis awsome. And if it's movies you want, Peter Jackson has the rights to the movie versions...

I saw the movie a couple of weeks ago. It was a pretty cool movie (I haven't read the books) and the movie was hilarious

:P my friend's kept making hilarious jokes during it. So like 2 of my friends wanted to watch it and were paying super close attention while me and 3 others were literally loling the whole time.

If you read the book, you will see how completely screwed up the movie is.

*slaps Peter Jackson* Get to work, foo! We need a remake of the movie ASAP!

Anyway, the move did suck compared to the book. I mean, they even messed up the sword. It's not a sapphire in the pommel, it's a ruby! *sigh* I swear, if the next one sucks that bad, I will stand up in the movie theater, proclaim loudly 'This sucks!' and leave.

That's why I didn't see the movie.

This book was a nice change from Harry Potter for me, and definatly better than "A Wizard of Earthsea" which I had to read in school.

That's why my friend told me, the book and the movie don't follow at all.
