All the ones with words.
Okay, more specific? Fantasy (light and high), historical fiction, non-fiction, mystery. I'll read just about anything except horror or crime. Imbri does not do ickies or jump scares.
I'm not really sure. I just read whatever grabs my attention. Of course I will say several years ago I was into some steampunk and cyberpunk kinds of books.
I normally read science fiction and realistic fiction, but I’ve been opening myself up to fantasy novels more recently. My favorite authors are Octavia Butler, Neil Gaiman, and Adrian Tchaikovsky. Armistead Maupin is an honorable mention.
I'll read just about any kind of fiction along with some biographies, historical accounts, poetry, and non-fiction related to animals. But my favorite genres are:
- Classic literature (especially from the 1800s)
- Poetry
- Fantasy
- Historical Fiction
- Mysteries
I read a lot of different genres, but these are the ones I tend to read a lot of:
Dystopian - Brave New World is my absolute favourite book of all time. I love the world-building that exists in dystopian novels and the such innate human desire to survive that gets explored in them. I also really love how it's basically a "what if" scenario simulator but the "what if" is so outlandish it makes for an interesting story of how society would react to it as a whole. Memoirs - I think people's individual lives are so interesting and I love reading about how other people have experienced their lives and the crazy stories that they have to share. Mystery - I am very bad at guessing plots, so I am always hooked on these books because head too empty to guess what happens. Fantasy - Again, world-building!! Love how in-depth some magic systems and civilizations are explained.
