Favorite Holiday Foods?

Man, all of you are making me so jealous. My family doesn't really do Christmas foods. My dad is all about a big Christmas breakfast with ham and sausage and oysters, but I don't eat breakfast and don't really like any of those foods. So I never experienced a real Christmas meal until I got married. My mother-in-law's peanut butter balls are amazing, though, and something I look forward to every year now.

Sugar cookies, as my mom and I bake them every year, but unfortunately we're not doing this year. Though my dad is making his homemade rice crispies. They're nothing special, but I still love them and the taste. c:

You do the peanut butter balls too? I thought that was just my relatives haha.
My gram would always use the leftover frosting from the ricotta cookies and mix it with peanut butter.
Some pretty tasty recycling!

I forgot my Dad makes pancakes on Xmas mornin.

Wait oysters? Okayee.

Yeah, I don't really get the oysters either, but it's his tradition. He's literally the only person in my household who eats them, but he sometimes gets guests to have some when they visit.

Yes, peanut butter balls are actually quite popular where I live as far as Christmas treats go. I've worked with several different ladies who bring them into work for the holidays as well. And they're always delicious!

Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes..
The only thing that gets me through family get-togethers.

To celebrate new year's even my mum always makes hundreds of 'oliebollen'. Dutch fried dough balls with raisins/currants :) They're super sweet and fluffy and often topped with powdered sugar. We also make versions filled with apple & pineapple slices.
It's the one time of year where it's acceptable to eat only one type of food all day and I'm living for it.
