Filling island

Hi all!
I'm currently struggling to fill my island up. I have a LOT of empty room and I'm just unsure where to go from here. I'm super happy with the top right part of my town but as I've built rather dense, the rest of the island is just super empty.

Here is my map/town layout, as well as the dream code.

Could anyone help point me in the right direction?

One way you could go is to decide on a theme. I've been to bug themed, spooky and seen rainbow themed islands. Maybe take a look at the dream address thread, you're sure to get some ideas there!

My island doesn't really have a theme, for example, I've got a little section with a gym, and planning a fairground/arcade section.

An orchard and/or garden center will definitely use some space. Did in my town.

the coolest islands that ive seen have one of two things...they are either filled with trees, flowers, bushes, mushrooms and paths with assorted items and terraformed waterfalls *etc* or they are mostly empty with assorted statues and terraformed waterfalls and ponds. i once saw somebody that had created a lake in their town and it looked amazing!
so if you like the space that you have but its a bit empty, then just put down some of your favorite items here and there and change them around a bit *locations and such* until you find something thats appealing to you! sometimes less is more also. try adding a few bushes here and there, and maybe some specialty items

honestly i don't think you can go wrong filling up areas with flowers, trees, waterfalls, statues, paths, bushes, ponds, etc.

in terms of items i always found little themed areas to be great (stargazing spot, carnival, flower shop, hiking trail, library, cafe, picnic spot, cinema, bakery, fortune teller booth, concert area, vegetable garden, playground, arcade, diner, orchard, graveyard, wedding venue, art gallery, etc.)

You have a great amount of space to work with. Really like how you made your rivers. I would probably make a farm/ fruit orchard. You could also set up a mini market area. With fruit and fish stands. I have a honey stand in my farm area. Maybe make a meditation area. Fishing and picnic areas. Stargazing area with the Celeste items and a telescope. Maybe a beach cafe . Outdoor movie theater.
