I never played online with people before and I haven't played SSB for over a year, so I've gotten reeeally rusty. Level 9 CPUs offline are too easy and predictable still, which is why I stopped playing it. I didn't have enough space on my SD card and didn't have wi-fi... until now. I've noticed everyone I've played thus far is really good, and here I am, I don't even remember how to grapple people... I've won 2/10 times. Is it unlikely for me to run into more casual players at this point so I can get more equal practice in or no?

Edit: Actually, this might be a bad idea anyway because I have a classic 3DS with the tiny screen and my circle pad is missing (my thumb is all red and it burns already). Hahaha

I can easily relate to this.

I have once went 2 years without playing Smash Bros. on the Wii until I bought Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS. When I first tried it out I went full numb; I literally had no idea on what I was doing and I was completely dumbfounded. Over the next few minutes, I kept on getting my A-er-I mean Butt kicked by low level CPUs.

After a while, I managed to regain my skills but sometimes I still get decimated online.

I kick a** with the level 9 CPUs, but it seems like every real person I've encountered has been playing the game nonstop since they got it and they're really good. This leaves me stuck, not wanting to play CPUs because they're too easy and not wanting to play with people online becauae I can't even get a hit in. I just want to find the middle ground!

I've played since N64 days and I used to play tourneys with my friends in melee, brawl, and 64 :) I miss those days!

I played somebody a bunch of times and lost continously, then I started beating them and somebody else in the house got on the internet and it started lagging really bad. I got reported. No thanks.
