Frustrated!

I wonder if they came from the Nookazon discord... I've heard so many horror stories over there, and have hung out enough to see shady people going on about things. I've had good experiences there, too, don't get me wrong, but I definitely take a LOT more care when I'm there, ie I go to their islands, block my entrance with a stall. I haven't done that for TBT trades for a good while.

Most people here have been lovely to trade or visit with, so please don't let it get you down

I never used other platform than TBT to trade in New Horizons. Back when I played NL, I used gamefaqs and most people there were ok. I think it's also that fact that the game is so popular (it's sold more than double the amount of NL in less than a year) that it attracted players that can/want to cause problems to others.

I have to say, I never had a bad experience with anyone on TBT, and I would suggest you to keep using it as your platform of choice to trade with other players.

After this, I'm definitely done posting for my island on discord. Nookazon is nice to find specific items quickly, but prices there are so inflated and it's very easy for things to get scummy. The website itself isn't too bad though, because people are more worried about getting bad ratings, but discord is a free-for-all.

Yeah I would avoid Nookazon because I've encountered too many toxic people and I had to file so many reports when people kept insulting me.

It's not Nookazon the website that I've had a problem with. It's the Nookazon-associated discord server. I've had really great experiences on Nookazon since I started using it back in May/June. I quite like its ease of use, actually. I find that it's usually easier to sell my items for a quick buck on there than on here. But the discord server is where things start to get shady, and that was my main mistake in this particular instance.

oof,, i’m sorry. even though nothing was stolen, you have every right to be frustrated; you, your island, your time and your kindness were disrespected, which isn’t okay at all. while it’s definitely possible that they were a little kid, if they’re old enough to play online with people, they’re old enough to have manners and to leave when they’re asked. plus, considering that they left the queue as soon as they began acting out, i find it unlikely that their behaviour wasn’t intentional. still, i’m sorry that you had to deal with this and i truly hope that this type of situation doesn’t happen to you again.

That's definitely what I was thinking too. By leaving the queue right as they started acting shady, they were giving themselves free rein of my island without the worry of being blocked. This was definitely intentional. They knew what they were doing. They've done it before, and they will most likely do it again. They had a plan, which I'm sure was thought out well before they arrived at my island. I'm just glad I didn't really have anything to steal. Flowers and fruit will regrow, but it's still super lame.
