I am thinking Dolby and Gavin are mafia-initial hunch but don't trust me yet on that.

oh btw as I stated before, there are two things I look out for: inactives and third party claimers...they are instalynch for me or something like that

so lemme see 2 mafia maybe, 1 blue maybe, and 4 townies maybe, does that sound balanced

I am thinking Dolby and Gavin are mafia-initial hunch but don't trust me yet on that.

What is it about Dolby that is making you say is an initial Mafia hunch for you ? Because it's coming down to Dolby for me again and I'm trying not to be biased just because I was Town and he was Mafia last game. I'm actually seeing a similar pattern in his play this game to the previous game we played. Although he is actually challenging players this time, which I'm sure he would have to do anyways considering how much it made him stand out for me last time.

Basically one thing I'm noticing up to now is that he's making claims but not following through with them. If a post of mine is making him scumlean me, I'm surprised I'm not getting more heat from him even though I'm pretty active in the thread. Also he commented a lot on the difference in Dedenne's gameplay but he hasn't bothered to state his current opinion on her gameplay currently, almost like he's leaving the floor open for us to keep guessing on her. I feel like, if he were Town he would be trying to narrow it more down than he currently is especially with all of those thoughts behind Dedenne's gameplay.

- - - Post Merge - - -

Oh another thing he's doing similar: he comes in to read the thread and leaves. I literally have to call him out to get his opinions and I feel like he would be a lot more open in the thread, if he were Town.

Alright, here's my thoughts so far.

The interaction between iLoveYou and Dolby seems a little odd. I get the feeling they could be scummates trying to distance themselves. Of course the game is still really early so I'm not certain.

Right now I don't see any reason to believe Gavin would be mafia. His behavior has been pretty consistent with his other games.

No comment for everyone else since they haven't contributed much yet.

I am just basing it on Gavin and Dolby's interaction. I have a vague history of what is going on between the two but I just saw it as potential tactic of two mafia to distance from each other. Of course, I have seen Dolby play as both Mafia and Town, and I know he loves taking advantage of third party claims when he is mafia or hostile to town so I will be wary if he will be claiming third party again lol. But This is my first time playing with Ghostkid and you so I don't know what to expect, but we will see.

And since this is Day One and not much content, I can see Dolby giving heat to one of his targets if he is indeed mafia, but the fact that he is not doing that maybe it just way for him to get a feel of everyone. I know when he was Mafia and I was his target, he really went after me and surprisingly enough, he was not even sussed when I was lynched and he was the one who led it. I don't know how he does it ha ha

What is it in particular that seems odd to you ?

Where is the voting thread?

oh shoot nevermind... we have to pm the votes..

Antonio, that is so shady!

Can I just say that I would appreciate being able to go to school and not be criticized for lurking during Senior Finals week (I’m a Senior)

Can I just say that I would appreciate being able to go to school and not be criticized for lurking during Senior Finals week (I’m a Senior)

You said something similar to that in the last game too. But ya, people get busy and that wasn't my only concern about you.

Can I just say that I would appreciate being able to go to school and not be criticized for lurking during Senior Finals week (I’m a Senior)

People are still criticizing you for that? I mean at this point, and I have proven it time and again that whether you are actively in the forums or not doesn't indicate any kind of alignment .

yup got it!! Ok quick question, can I say who I am voting or is that discouraged ?

You may!

Can I just say that I would appreciate being able to go to school and not be criticized for lurking during Senior Finals week (I?m a Senior)

My senior finals are next week so.

I'm going to go forward assuming that this is 5v2, that simply makes the most sense to me. There are other plausible variations that I have previously mentioned, but that simply makes the most sense. I'm also going to discount Evan in my reads and wait until he (probably) gets replaced

I want to make this clear that I'm not responding to this when I'm talking about Dedenne probably later on in this post (I was using Dedenne purely as an example of how first-time scum act, and she's reflecting town meta a lot). But I simply didn't have the oppertunity to post much. My biggest window of time, last night around 9 PM PST, there really wasn't much to talk about or analyze. Dedenne also literally hadn't posted, besides her RQS answers (which I really don't feel are that indictative anyway) between my last full post last night and my own answers to the RQS. Point being, in that span of time there wasn't much to analyze I simply haven't had the oppertunity to analyze her, or anybody, in the thread since last night, and to single out Dedenne here is simply falacious. I really don't object to the idea that I'm lurking=I'm avoiding the thread that much, but 1. I'm better than that and 2. This honestly seems like you're trying to add artificial substance to your point on me lurking.

Now, speaking of Dedenne again, her tone and fluff are very reminiscent of her town tone and I feel in direct contrast to her mafia play last game. In her earlier posts especially last game she tried to avoid fluff and churn out more pure content related to what's currently happening, and this stands out in comparison to her mafia play last game.

Dedenne2 Hunger Games as Mafia said:
im 75 25 on runes claim, yes it is a bit odd to claim in your first post but from what ive read thats the norm? idk. he seemed pretty genuine tho and honestly lynching him will be no used to town whatsoever, we should focus on lynching maf asap (which is what we should be doing anyway lol)
First post in Hunger Games from her as mafia. Nothing non-related to the game, no jokes. While it is definetely weak, she attempts to provide only content related to the game

Dedenne2 This Game said:
i agree with Kayla, i think that gavin would act the same way as he does even if he's mafia as thats just how his personality is, and he shows it a lot in games.

also i cba to do rqs too much effort

- - - Post Merge - - -

is your inbox full bianca?
In comparison to this game, where Dedenne's opinion on Gavin stands out as stronger, despite it being in opposition to having any read on him. He simply states it with less hesitency. Moreover, again, the fluff, an apology for not putting in as much effort

If dolby assumes town leader that means he's town lol.

also iirc 1 maf per 3 town

This is a far better example of her fluff. First line is clearly a joke, which isn't really a characteristic of scum!Dedenne. In comparison, maybe one post in Hunger Games mafia D1 was Dedenne putting out fluff or non-related stuff. The rest of Dedenne's posts are one-liners, but again, it's fluff, and it shows her as being comfortable with her role. Townlean. I am reasonably confident in this lean.

I am thinking Dolby and Gavin are mafia-initial hunch but don't trust me yet on that.

I've forgotten the last time when you were mafia, and even when you played, but this does kinda feel like your town tone from what I remember. Though you are horribly off.

Basically one thing I'm noticing up to now is that he's making claims but not following through with them. If a post of mine is making him scumlean me, I'm surprised I'm not getting more heat from him even though I'm pretty active in the thread.

Again, taking things out of context and building a case from nothing. I did scumread you last night because I misread your post (specifically, I misread a sentence and thought that you were FoSing Gavin for normal behavior), but a dropped it when I realized that I misread. You're ignoring what happened there. In post #14 I dropped my sus and never brought back up because it was based on a misinterpretation.

Now as for the portion of this I bolded, I've been relatively inactive and this is probably the most legitamite point against me, and annoying since I can't do much to change it. Even in comparison to the players currently in the thread, but since last night I have made maybe 3 total posts, and while I have been playing passively I have not been blanketly ignoring you, I directly challenged your implied assertion about Ghostkid's wording "mafia team", that it was a scum slip, and I think that it's odd that you didn't directly come to any conclusions on it despite pointing it out. I personally feel that she didn't directly state a scumlean on it as it would weaken her position in the thread, having TLed Ghost earlier.

Alright, here's my thoughts so far.

This is the nullest null that ever nulled. What I want to know is which one of us, me or ILY, you sus more.

Sadly I can't go more into ILY as I lack the time to, but I do also find it sus that 1. She didn't directly state that Ghost's verbage was a scumslip, possibly to save face 2. A lot of her case on me is based upon not well-reasoned assertions (such as me not providing anything on Dedenne's behavior for example) 3. In creating a controversial opinion on how first-time scum Ghostkid would act, she created a way to produce content without saying anything. This is pretty much exactly what she did in Ships with policy lynching (and what I expect was her aim there as well in doing so)

TL;DR
Dedenne confident TL
Ghost slight TL
bianca honestly null
Maple null/slight SL
Evan ignored
ILY SL

- - - Post Merge - - -

Man, I should've spent 5 minutes organizing that by player addressed

Also that "nullest null" comment was supposed to convey that Silver never stated a direct opinion on any of me, ILY, and Ghost

Just a reminder

- Everyone is required to vote. You can't vote for mislynch either, just a person.
- You need to have at least one quality post or a couple small posts per day that is on-topic with the game. You may go off-topic but if all you are doing is being off-topic, then you may be modkilled. I'll issue a warning to let you know if you are being too off-topic.
- Night phase will be different, in a good way.
- If you haven't, resend me your role information.

If I haven't stated this before, I'm stating it now.

Okay, so now I'm back to being a scum lean. I bet this is going to be such a repeat of last game.

I'm not convinced with the way things went down at all. I truly feel if you were Town you would have made some sort of comment on the exact quotes from Dedenne that you used in your gigantic reply now. How can it be that you're only back-tracking now ? After I call you out on that lack of connection ? I was waiting to see if you would attempt to help the thread see a potential Town lean in Dedenne but of course you didn't. Besides me, she's the only other player ( active at the time ) who you can keep a question mark over instead of attempting to narrow down on. Because you gave Gavin a slight Town lean already. You even posted other things instead so I doubt time was really a factor here.

I really don't object to the idea that I'm lurking=I'm avoiding the thread that much, but 1. I'm better than that and 2. This honestly seems like you're trying to add artificial substance to your point on me lurking.

But yet, that's exactly what happened last game. You were sitting back more than putting your opinions out there at the beginning, letting the thread work around itself, while constantly checking in. It became even more obvious as time went on.

No I completely understood that you backed off once you realized the mistake but there's no way you're going to convince me that you let me off the hook up until now, to scum lean me again in the end, when you need to because I'm calling you out. You're flip-flopping because you know I'm Town. The only reason I didn't charge you as hard as the previous game was because I wanted to make sure I wasn't being biased just because I got another Town role.

I've done that many times as Town in the last game, where I post about something that catches my eye and drop it without a word. That's just how I play as Town and as Mafia I'm a lot more careful to fully reply to everything. When I'm Town I get more sloppy because a) I always run the risk of dying early anyways so I'll get confirmed Town and people don't have to spend an entire game debating me and b) I feel like I can be a lot more sloppy as Town without facing consequences of being a loss of a member of a team depending on me as much as a Mafia team would.

Sadly I can't go more into ILY as I lack the time to, but I do also find it sus that 1. She didn't directly state that Ghost's verbage was a scumslip, possibly to save face 2. This is pretty much exactly what she did in Ships with policy lynching (and what I expect was her aim there as well in doing so)

The controversy that happened in CTSTP was an attempt to seem helpful to Town by suggesting we lynch deadweight inactives. I figured I also had to do that because I was a huge advocate for that back in 2014 as Town ( in case people looked back ). What happened at the beginning of this game wasn't even the type of " controversy " that could help me in any way because I was basically saying " he can easily do the same thing as Mafia " which ran the risk of turning him against me if he is Town and thinks I am targeting him.

The thread has been depressingly inactive in the time that's passed

I'm not convinced with the way things went down at all. I truly feel if you were Town you would have made some sort of comment on the exact quotes from Dedenne that you used in your gigantic reply now. How can it be that you're only back-tracking now ? After I call you out on that lack of connection ? I was waiting to see if you would attempt to help the thread see a potential Town lean in Dedenne but of course you didn't. You even posted other things instead so I doubt time was really a factor here.
Again, ILY's trying to create a case from nothing and some of her contentions here are actually demonstratably false. First of all, it isn't exactly a big secret that from the hours of 8-2 I'm not exactly making cases because I have other obligations: school and often work on weekends. Second, before I got home today, or when you called me out for lack of activity, I made one full post with much thought behind it, with responses to your questions. The only other thing that I pointed out was refuting that Ghost's post was a scumslip, and that Evan was likely going to be modkilled, both stated because they were of interest and took little time, I didn't exactly have the resources to source multiple games, compare and contrast. But that's besides the point, I didn't provide a read on Dedenne because of your pressure, and I even prefaced it in my earlier post because I was expecting you to run with this line of attack. I provided a comparison for Dedenne because I am pretty confident in my read on her because she has more of a town tone this game. Moreover, on Dedenne I have in no way backtracked, and I never stated a full opinion on her until recently when I got the time to analyze her recently.

I was waiting to see if you would attempt to help the thread see a potential Town lean in Dedenne but of course you didn't.
This is demostrably false
I did and I don't see you mentioning anything about her

But yet, that's exactly what happened last game. You were sitting back more than putting your opinions out there at the beginning, letting the thread work around itself, while constantly checking in. It became even more obvious as time went on.
I'm not gonna argue over this because it's going to be a back and forth of the same points

Well ignoring the Gambler's fallacy here this segment isn't all bad. Of course I didn't let you off the hook completely, I just dropped my sus over the FoS. But again, demonstratably false, I have not flip-flopped on you and have had a consistent scumread since early game.

That's an absolutely horrible outlook on a town playstyle. Seriously horrendous

But I'm not sussing you over you dropping it, I find that perfectly reasonable regardless of your alignment considering that the language Ghost used was weird even in the sense of refering to himself being on the mafia team. What I'm sussing you over is not coming to a conclusion on the significance of the post and letting everybody else come to their own conclusions on the post first.

The controversy in CTSTP had the effect of you producing nothing while saying something, giving you the facade of being a contributer, which is kind of the effect that I feel the Ghostkid discussion had. Acknowledging that you're only read besides me is on Ghostkid (a townlean, but more than 12 hours later), saying "he can easily do the same thing as Mafia" is pretty much the easist copout to do as mafia if you want to NOT townlean town who is acting as they normally do but does not have a defined scum meta

- - - Post Merge - - -

Also, as to those other things, I don't really consider my opinion on Ghost's "mafia team" comment or stating that Evan is likely going to be modkilled as particularly momentous achievements

- - - Post Merge - - -

Slight TL on Bianca as well, she's posting opinions that stand in direct contrast to pretty much the only teaming link discussed in the thread. That's town behavior from her

I am thinking Dolby and Gavin are mafia-initial hunch but don't trust me yet on that.

- - - Post Merge - - -

oh btw as I stated before, there are two things I look out for: inactives and third party claimers...they are instalynch for me or something like that

What I find interesting up to now is that even when Dolby gave Gavin a little Town lean, Gavin completely rejected it. I feel like any Mafia player would have been content with it and taken the Town lean and start to work alongside the player. So for that reason I'm going to lean Town on Gavin. I'm also going to lean more towards Gavin and Dolby not being on the same team, even though distancing is a possibility as well.

Just my two cents.

But besides that, a key facet of Bianca's scum play is to not post any opinions. In Caxival mafia (https://www.belltreeforums.com/show...ead-End-Game&p=7643268&highlight=#post7643268) it took her until LATE D2 to state any opinion she held directly (at an earlier point she addressed Farobi as "playful town or bold scum", not counting that as it's not giving a definitive opinion on alignment). Whereas as town she isn't afraid to post the opinions she has (ie, scumreading claimed masons (me and Punchy) in APM)

So have, TL

Was it really an oops moment for Gavin? I can understand it might just be wording mishap but sometimes you can slip.

On the basis of people trying to distance from each other : we got Gavin-Dolby and ILoveYou-Dolby.

I also have another theory: If Evan is scum, the mafia team is now probably panicking on replacement if evan gets modkilled. I wanna try to vote Evan since he might be modkilled anyway.
