SO THIS PROBABLY ISNT RIGHT BUT ON THE GAME STOP WEBSITE IT SAYS THE RELEASE DATE OF AC SWITCH IS 12/31/19


this has to be wrong like maybe its just the default setting for all games that don't have a set release date yet? i have no idea but its kind of bugging me and i need to find out if its true or not. i say this because it also lists it as action/adventure so unless we get an animal crossing RPG this is false?

Its a placeholder, most major retailers set 12/31 of the release year as their date. Nothing to really look into yet.

Yup GameStop always puts 12/31 as the release date for games that don't have a solid release date yet. They want to open up preorders so it has to be in the system so it's just a placeholder. I doubt any major retailer will post the release date before it's been officially announced by nintendo.

Closest we ever got was Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle: The Crystal Bearers on the Wii on 12/26/09. They literally sent that game to die.

But no, no major Nintendo game would ever release after a major holiday. This game is a dead ringer for September/October or early December at the latest if the "slated for 2019" date holds strong. Heck, 12/31/19 isn't even a Friday.

12/31/XXXX is always just a place holder date. Besides, most if not all Nintendo games release on a Friday. In rare occasions, they release on a Tuesday.

December 31 is the last day of a calendar year.

That way, one will not hold Game Stop accountable for a more specified date of release in the year 2019.
