Well I called them and good news! There will be a midnight release for NBA 2016 and you can buy animal crossing hhd at the opening. The only thing is that the midnight release will vary from location to location depending on how many presale orders that actual GameStop location receives for the NBA game. So the best answer, as usual, is to call your local games to and ask. The guy I spoke to said its best to call a few days before for the most accurate answer.

Yeah I wanted to get as many as they allow me whenever I pick up my copy, but who knows. I'm making my bf come so he can get in line behind me and buy more if they have a really low limit. xD I also cracked and just bought the special edition Isabelle card. Nintendo is going to get me evicted at this rate.

But nobody in the US seems to actually have the cards yet, or pre-ordering in place. I bought 5 packs of Japanese cards (15 cards) but I think I'll wait for the American cards before I buy any more.

Toys R Us had pre-orders going in august {my mom had preordered 3 packs before I decided I wanted the Japanese cards instead}. It was online which they removed, but it's possible they are still taking them in store just depending on where you ask!

I went in one yesterday to ask if they had pre orders available for the cards and they told me no. Oh well. Hopefully they won't be too hard to find. I have a target, Walmart, toysrus, best buy, and GameStop all within 10 minutes of me lol. I would cry if none of them had cards the 25th

I did the same thing and I had some pretty good luck! Hopefully you do as well. I'm going to wait for US cards to be released to buy anymore, aside from that Isabelle card.

bumping for the added info on midnight release for nba 2016. Whenever I called my location they said I could purchase AC HHD at that time so I guess I'm going to go, hopefully they have some cards as well.

I've been to two GameStops in my area - no midnight release for NBA2016 at those stores.

They both said its still too early to tell if they will have midnight releases - it sounds like corporate tells them when they will do it or not, and that is decided 2-3 days in advance. Ymmv.

I don't understand why these stores are not making preorder available, since there's the preoder for the game and the New Nintendo 3DS. This sucks, because I'm from Brazil and I've already preordered the New 3DS and I wanted to buy some amiibo cards with it, but Amazon (where I bought the console) also doesn't have preorders for the amiibo cards.

Maybe it's because of the controversy of the amiibos - people buying it and selling it out quickly?

This actually works out great for me I get off of work at 10 and the train station is right by the GameStop I pre-ordered at XD of course I will have my bf meet me there I don't want anyone attempting to steal my precious animal crossing

I pre-ordered the bundle but I'm thinking of getting the new 3ds bundle now since I still can, I think I'm going to trade some game in too fantasy life (never made it past the tutorial) super smash bros (all my friends don't play da anymore no one to play with) Disney magical world (it's so cute but I just don't play) the last 3 games I haven't traded yet BUT I NEEDS AMIIBO CARDS

My location said the same thing, to check back a few days before. A couple days later they released this link for the midnight launches. You can use it to see if any locations have already met the quota to have a midnight release.

This sounds awesome I need to call my local GameStop if they will have a midnight release for it. I have been wondering since the pack of animal crossing amiibo cards cost $ 5.99 how much do you think a booster box will cost though.

Cause I have been thinking of buying a booster box if they have one for animal crossing though x.x..

Make sure to ask about a midnight release for NBA 2016, not ac hhd. Also make sure they will allow you to buy the game at the NBA release. Mine said yes but that doesn't mean all will say yes

It really is! Even if I end up upgrading, I can always sell the reader on eBay so its not a waist at all ^.^

I pre-ordered HHD from Amazon, and I don't really want to attend a midnight release. I'll be sleeping while you all are there. LOL The next day my copy will arrive on my doorstep and that is soon enough for me.

I have a few Japanese HHD cards imported from Japan that I also got from Amazon, and I'll play with those until we find out more about availability of the US cards.
