Pokémon Gen 9 Starters

Sprigatito for me unless I really hate its final evolution! I was aiming to choose grass for gen 9 because so far I've gone:

Kanto - Charmander
Johto - Totodile
Hoenn - Treecko
Sinnoh - Piplup
Unova - Oshawott
Kalos - Fennekin
Alola - Rowlet
Galar - Scorbunny

So choosing grass for this new region means I've had 3 fire, 3 water, and 3 grass starters in mainline games. Perfectly balanced as all things should be Luckily Sprigatito is adorable too, though Fuecoco is def my second choice, another top tier design.

I usually go with the go with the fire starters in my first run, followed by the grass starters (Rowlet & Chikorita <3) for any other playthrough. This time I'll chose Sprigatito first though since it is a cute kitty cat! :3

Fuecoco! he's a beautiful crocodile boi, and he's the first starter i've really fallen in love immediately with since X/Y. Really hoping he gets a good evolution line. Quaxly's cool too, but I don't really like Sprigatio because I feel like it looks a little too generic.

Fuecoco is who I'd pick. However considering I don't have a switch anymore, I'd probably not get the game. It would have to really interest me to buy a copy to use on my spouse's old switch. I don't foresee gamefreak accomplishing that for me which is fine.
I'd hope fuecoco would be fire ghost simply because that would be cool and his face reminds me of a bone mask.

For years I always thought I went with the fire type starters for every game, but then I just realized something. It’s actually always been a mixture for me. I was going to go with Fuecoco, but now that I know I go with a mixture of different starters depending on who I like and based off of whichever starter looks good to me, I’m now leaning towards Sprigatito. I love cats and this one’s design appeals to me most.

Nothing is really set in stone for me yet, I'm going to wait until they release the final evolutions before I cast my vote. However, based on first impressions of the starters I'd pick

Sprigatito>Quaxly>Fuecoco

On a side note, I actually really do like Fuecoco, I just have this fear that the final evolution is going to end up looking like Duraludon and I'm not here for it

It may change depending on evolution but I’m set on choosing Fuecoco. It looks cute plus I predict it’s final evolution will be awesome. This will be my 3rd time in a row I pick fire.

I saw someone make a fakemon of his last evolution, and their concept looked really good. It made me want to pick Quaxly. Idk if I can find it again, Picture from Twitter Artist Kyleculp.art - Full evo Line Concept but basically it gave me Golduck Vibes, but cooler. He also had this water bubble thing that looked like a surfboard.

This is slightly off topic but I would love Quaxly if his hidden ability was Water Bubble. Dewpider and Araquanid are cool but its about time for another line to have that cool/semi-broken ability.

I am going with Fuecoco the fire starter.
With this I will have three grass starters, three fire starters, and three water starters. Bulbasaur, Cyndaquil, Mudkip, Piplup, Tepig, Chespin, Popplio, Grookey, Fuecoco.

Despite being open to the other starters, I always end up choosing the grass starter (except for tepig ).

I'd really like to choose Quaxley , though admittedly if I see the final evolutions I could change my mind. I'll possibly try and avoid spoilers, but we'll see!

I can confirm that I ended up choosing Sprigatito.

I did avoid spoilers (accidentally saw the Sprigatito final evolution), and I went into the game open to all the options. Just went with my gut and went through the dialogue for each of them, and Sprigatito just felt the most right. In the end, my debating was actually between Fuecoco and Sprigatito.

I'm quite pleased with my decision actually, because Slowpoke/Slowking will always be my ideal water Pokémon, and there are so many Slowpoke running around in that game. For water Pokémon, I've managed to evolve myself a Slowking, caught a Slowbro, and I also have a great Cloyster I love.
