I’ve only watched like the first season or two… and then mostly a few clips of specific musical numbers…. I remember I was at Comic Con and I they had a panel about it before it aired and I didn’t quite understand why because it wasn’t based on any comic. But then I realized it was about a marginalized group, like comic book fans, and I also personally connected A LOT with it because I was a choir kid growing up. And there are a lot of folks at SDCC who are into that Disney musical sort of thing. Anyway, so I knew plenty of ‘Rachels’ growing up haha. I am also a huge musical theater fan so I feel like I might have really liked it and gotten into it, I think there was just a lot of other stuff I was busy watching while it was airing.
So in an a capella group I was in once, we sang their cover of Don’t Stop Believing, so I think I had gone back and watched that episode a ton. But mostly I’m a romantic, so I mostly at some point just skipped ahead to scenes with Mr Shue and Emma so I could see how that played out
Thank goodness for streaming hehe.
Recently my boyfriend told me someone told him he looks like Mr Shuester. I get the impression he hates this sort of genre and would never watch this show, but he was asking me about it (because he knows it’s the sort of thing I would loove). Anyway, I don’t think he looks much like Matthew Morrison at all, but it’s sort of interesting to think about how someone might make that connection
