Don't give them any more ideas.I know I already said my piece on this topic, but something that always bugged me about the tools breaking is why didn't the terraforming tools break or the vaulting pole/ladder?

My guess for the ladder and vaulting pole is that allowing them to break would allow you to get stuck very easily. You could get trapped on your tier 2 cliff with no way to get to a crafting bench, we’d have to carry crafting benches at all times which isn’t very intuitiveI know I already said my piece on this topic, but something that always bugged me about the tools breaking is why didn't the terraforming tools break or the vaulting pole/ladder? Granted these would be more of a pain to deal with, but it just doesn't make sense. If you pick and choose what breaks and what doesn't, then there really isn't a pattern.
I remember expecting the ladder and pole to break when I first crafted them and kept waiting for it to break with each use. If they have these set to never break, they could've easily set the gold tools to never break.
Flimsy tools make sense that they break. You craft them from sticks. After that, it shouldn't be a thing. And it should've never happened to gold tools. I haven't crafted a single gold tool. It was simply there way of padding the game's time artificially.
We have Rescue Services going to waste. My guess for the ladder and vaulting pole is that allowing them to break would allow you to get stuck very easily. I remember thinking the same thing too regarding those tools. I don't think I'd have been even remotely surprised if this ended up happing as well:I remember expecting the ladder and pole to break when I first crafted them and kept waiting for it to break with each use. Back in the older AC games the only tool that would break was your Axe and they made sure to let you know when its about to break by looking at your inventory and you start to see "cracks" on the axe. At least you were able to tell when its about to be broken. Heck even in another Nintendo game Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild when you use weapons the game says "Your (insert weapon here) is about to break" again at least it gave you a head up when its about to break. But in my opinion, breakable tools in Animal Crossing is just an all-around terrible idea (being limited to just the axe in prior games was fine, and the flimsy tools was understandable), and having golden tools be breakable is just plain stupid.
the watering can breaks... that one makes no sense to me and i wish the normal customizable watering cans could only water one plant at a time like flimsy ones do, i prefer that way even if it takes more time.Back in the older AC games the only tool that would break was your Axe and they made sure to let you know when its about to break by looking at your inventory and you start to see "cracks" on the axe. ACNH fails at this so hard. Even after getting the golden tools it just makes it more worthless. What is even the point of using them if you cannot customize them to restart their durability? You can do that on regular Tools but not the golden or flimsy ones. It just blows my mind its like to quote AVGN "WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!"
Even so that doesn't excuse the problem with the tools breaking. The problem is that you cannot even tell if a tool is going to break. Again like in the other AC games the only tool that would break is the Axe and you can see it has cracks on it that gives an indication of the tool breaking.I'm gonna be on the unpopular side and say that I love the breakable tools, and that golden ones break. I think they make perfect sense in a game where crafting is a big part of it. My only change to how they work would be to either make them more durable so that people who are constantly redoing their islands won't have to make new ones as often and so people who play more casually/are not using them all the time won't notice them breaking as often.
As a suggestion for the game, I think the reward for finishing the "break tools" Nook Miles Achievement would be that your tools don't break. Because once you complete that achievement, there isn't a point for your tools to break and then you can decide if you want to use the cute flimsy ones or the ones you can buy from Nooklings and never have to worry about them breaking.
My main problem with tools breaking is that you need to carry around multiple shovels at once to avoid having to go and craft/buy more. It eats up room in my inventory and drives me crazy.I'm gonna be on the unpopular side and say that I love the breakable tools, and that golden ones break. Even so, I don't care lol. This isn't other AC games, so things are different and I was saying I like it. People still love to whine and complain about the changes in NH years later as if it's gonna change anything.Even so that doesn't excuse the problem with the tools breaking.
