It won't happen, because it would require too much actual coding. But...they should make the warp pipe a functional item that takes us down to a "proper" basement where we can just store items that we can't put in storage. Whether you put the pipe inside or outside...you hop onto it, and down you go. Screen-wipe to a new area where you can drop your extra DIYs, flowers, etc. Essentially, treat it as an "outside area" (but hidden)...and without the guidelines of the star ratings, so you can dump whatever you want.

Pretty sure there will be a pipe that teleports you to either another part of the island or to a minigame.

If this is the only thing we get, I'd be happier than a pig in mud.

I tend to not create any sort of expectation for any update, that way I'm not disappointed if it/they aren't met. It's worked so far.

Okie, here are my guesses:

Furniture and Items
All of the Super Mario items from the previous games may come back like ? block, coin, super mushroom, super star, goal pole, etc.
New additions may include ice flower, F.L.U.D.D., super bell, star bits, etc.

Clothing
I am thinking of Mario and Luigi hat, overalls, shirts, and brown shoes. I am hoping for Daisy, Peach, and Rosalina dresses and crowns. Toad costume, Wario, Waluigi, Cappy, and more.

I think most of the past items will be returning, like:
wallpaper/flooring
Mario items (shells, bananas, star, mushrooms)
Brick blocks and question blocks
A pipe
A yoshi egg
The goal pole

For clothing:
Hats, with colors for Mario, Luigi, and the powerup colors possibly
red/green overalls
Princess Dresses for Peach and Daisy
Maybe a Cappy hat?
Also outfits for Toad
I’d hope for some of the cat outfits too from
3D World

I’d also expect a mushroom or star wand, and then a little reaction for the classic Mario pose when he jumps up

As someone who is a fan of Mario games I really hope there is more variety of Mario items rather than the pixel ones from old AC games that only focused on Super Mario Bros. I would want new items from like Super Mario Bros 3 and Super Mario World. Those were my favorite games.

My list is about to be more of a wishlist than an actual guessing list.

• ...I would genuinely be surprised if they don't add Rosalina's wand. So that's going to be on my guess list.
• A Rosalina Dress, Shoes, and possibly crown comes with the wand.
• Same as above but with Peach and (hopefully or else I'll cry) Daisy's outfits, adding their parasols, too.
• And the obvious: Mario and Luigi outfits, hats and mustaches.
• Toad Hat/Cap.
• Cappy Hat.
• Something 3D World related? A cat suit or tanuki suit, probably.
• A majority of the old furniture because I don't see why they wouldn't? Plus nostalgia. (Wallpaper, Flooring, Flag pole, Brick/Question Mark blocks,-Up Mushroom, Cannon, Coin, Fire Bar, Fire Flower, Green Pipe, Koopa Shell, Starman, Super Mushroom, Banana, Kart, Yoshi's Egg, Triple Shells... I'm probably missing things but you get the gist.)
• Pixel Mario furniture
• A Mario event/"Holiday" just to get these items.
