I just noticed this today. Wondering if this has this been a thing since the 2.0 update, or was this implemented in the 2.0.4 update yesterday?

Strange, I haven't seen any gyroid fragments on the beach

EDIT: I found a gyroid fragment washed up on the shore today ☺

Yes! I got one on my beach this morning as well. I thought maybe I accidently dropped it and forgot about but I'm glad someone else experienced this too

No, v2.0.4 is the first time this started happening. Definitely odd that it's only happening now, but, I suppose it could be like the Mermaid Fence DIY, where it was supposed to be in the game much earlier but it was accidentally bugged and didn't appear until a later update.

All that said, I didn't get any gyroid fragment on my beach today, so I feel like I'm missing out, lol.

Yes. it is indeed included in the 2.0.4 update. It also added the 11 other zodiac figurines.

Additionally, according to a datamine, Winter 2021 is utilizing a ver 2.1.0 update. Meaning, a 2.1.0 update is bound to happen soon. Could be before Toy Day, New Year or Festivale.
Apparently a misinterpretation.

Oh, good to know!
I know it's a long shot but it would be nice if they expanded the Toy Day event, the events in game are so lack luster

Oh wow really? Hmm, I'm not sure how I feel about that. Between finding two after it rains and now this, I feel like it takes away from the kapp'n islands a bit.
Are the fragments washing ashore intentional or just a bug?

It is intentional as it is given a 30% chance of washing ashore.

On a different note, 2.0.4 is labeled 2.1.0 in the code. How odd. No wonder it got misinterpreted.

I didn't see any on my main island or 2nd island. I think this must be a new glitch or if Nintendo didn't intend for it to do that. Seems very strange because the whole purpose of finding Gyroid fragments is underground not on the beach. Weather if this is a good thing or not I can see this being fixed soon.

Sorry to bother but I'm not sure if I'm mis-reading your post - so it says in the code for the latest patch that it's intentional? I got one on my island today and saw someone mention them getting them too but they were unsure if it was a glitch either so it'd be good to know haha

Yes. It is a new feature added in the recent update (ver 2.0.4).
The remaining zodiac figurines were also added.

i was so surprise to see a fragment gyroid on my beache, i was like "wait i don't remenber to put a fragment gyroid here..." Cx

Just found a fragment on my beach today. Honestly glad they added this so I won't have to pay 1,000 miles to go the Kapp'n islands.

Whoa, I have to start searching more diligently now! I suppose it does make sense that they'd wash up, since they also appear during rain. Water-based, y'know. At this point I think I have all of them, but frankly, the surprise of seeing what grows is enough to make me keep doing it every day!

wow! i haven't come across them yet, but i'm glad i saw this thread so that i don't get mega confused when i find gyroid fragments on the beach.

I haven't seen them wash up on my beaches but at least now I could get 2 fragments per day? I am assuming if you go on a kapp'n island and get one you can also get one from your island beaches on the same day?

I have yet to see one washed up on my shore. Has anyone seen them frequently since the update?
