Hairstyles with Nook Miles?

I don't think it's fair that we gotta spend nook miles on hair styles, oh well :p

I kind of agree.
I don't even know why there's a second currency.

Bells are enough, IMO.

I wonder how long it'll take to unlock them since you get nook miles from simple every day tasks. I don't really like any of the starting hairstyles or colours. And I really hope you'd be able to pay to go to shampoodles and get your hair did since it makes more sense than just changing your whole look out of nowhere.

Don't you think that would take longer to unlock Shampoodles (if it's in the game still) than it would to use Nook Miles and buy access?

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I'm totally for all the changes that make some NPCs obsolete. I got a little tired of having to sit through repetitive dialog trees to do a simple task that would take just a few seconds with menus instead.

i dont get the hate for nook miles tbh. i understand the separation--nook miles are based on a task-based rewards system that, presumably, cannot be traded with other players. because of this, you cannot just get nook miles from another player to unlock something you want and it encourages actual participation in the game to unlock things. i think it enhances game longevity and daily player time to give us daily tasks to do! also as we saw in the direct its not like theyre super hard to earn, with the player earning 300 for like one task. it's really not a big deal, but people are flacking it like it's a microtransaction currency. i understand how it could enhance gameplay p easily.

i am a bit worried about how spaced out unlocks seem to be. like im so impatient to get going... im worried ill be two months in before i can get the hair i want lmao. i doubt we start off with full access of nook miles products.

Why don't you feel it is fair? It isn't much different than waiting for a nice wig to pop up in the Able's store and paying for it with bells. Or going and paying 3,000 bells for a haircut and dye at Shampoodles.

I don't understand all the hatred towards the Nook Miles. I mean, you are getting rewarded for things you were going to do anyway.

I suppose some people are just against change, which I think completely defeats the purpose of a new sequel. We all saw how City Folk went, and how unexciting it was to play what was, for the most part, a simple port. The appeal in New Horizons is the fact that, well, everything is new, and I think that's an awesome thing.

Personally, I like the Nook Miles system from what I saw. Using them to unlock new hairstyles, amongst many other things, gives me more objectives in the game, which will keep me playing longer. It's the same deal with crafting furniture/tools, too. Lessening the prominence of bells in the game makes it feel as if there are just so many other goals to work towards, and makes the game less of a huge money grind.

And I love the new hairstyles, especially the masculine ones. I've been stuck using the same one all throughout New Leaf because I didn't like the other options, but now I can definitely see myself switching between many different ones. The art style and physics just makes it 10x better!

Yep, and also using Nook Miles feels more you're redeeming for rewards rather than paying for an item. Plus, it gives you more motivation to change your hair when you don't have all the hairstyles unlocked right from the start.

We've only seen a handful of hairstyles too, whereas the Direct showed we can purchase at least 24 more with Miles. And of the few we've seen, a lot were completely new. So I think there's a lot left to discover.
