i might be dumb and not have paid enough attention but what is Harvey’s role in this game? saw him in a screenshot but didn’t understand what his function is... pls help

He manages Photopia which is an island you can go to to take photos with villagers and NPCs.

He does the whole Amiibo Photopia thing where you scan in amiibos and can pose and dress them and take pictures of them. He was also shown to be in the players town but that might just be to introduce himself to the player and talk about Photopia island.

Was that actually confirmed though that he manages photopia? I saw dialogue from Pax, I think, where he was like hey tell the dodo airlines you want to come to Harvey’s Island. Why wouldn’t he say just say Photopia?

because his island is just "Harv's Island" but the cabin is "Photopia" I believe?

If his only role is Pictiopia then I doubt I'll ever see him :/

it appears that way. i rewatched that part of the direct to make sure i had heard correctly and after the amiibo function is shown, it states “you can also invite these familiar faces to photopia” and while that doesn’t exactly confirm anything, there wasn’t anything said about being able to use villagers obtained ‘naturally’ in it so it kinda looks like it might be an amiibo function.
