Hi!

As stated in the title, I was wondering if anyone had tried out the new catalog app yet on Nooklink!

It's part of the winter update but only available as of today (I think) in the app. I remember it being stated somewhere that it would be updated in the Nooklink end of November/beginning of December, so been looking forward to using it!

Before this update, I've personally been using Nooklink only occasionally when I need to type more lengthy phrases while online with people. But now I'll definitely use it more with this new feature that will be super useful and handy for me, and I'm sure for many people here.

Here are a few screenshots I took from my phone:

I love how you can click to view the items appearing in the background in case you were interested in a particular one, but don't know the name of it. I wonder if the background will keep changing with new items every day. Will find that out in the coming days!

I also love the filter options:

Besides the usual filtering by category, I think it's great that you can filter by colours (I'm sure I'll find use of it soon, like searching for red or green items that would fit for Xmas).

This would have been a lot more helpful at the beginning when I was trying to enter my catalog into nook.exchange. I think I saw some screenshots on Twitter where the catalog breaks if you are scrolling too fast but maybe they fixed that.
Yessss, entering my catalog in nook exchange was/is painful. Lol

Thanks for the information 🙂 I had no idea that it had been updated. I only use the app when chatting on island visits. I think I am the only person on here who hasn’t had a catalogue or done a wishlist.

I will go and check it out now 💜

Yes! The Joy-cons on my Pro controller are saved. 🤣 I've only tried searching via keywords so far; excited to try out the filtering toggles for holiday decorating -- thanks for sharing! 😊

I didn't check it out yet, as I just downloaded the Nintendo Switch Online app yesterday. It's actually cool to have this available now, not sure however how often I will use it.

I see, good to know! So far it's been working fine even while scrolling fast. Maybe I got to try it more often though before I can conclude that the issue is fixed.

I wish these expanded settings were available in the game itself.

It seems kind of like the Nook Shopping app that we get on our in game phones after buying 100 items at the Nook ATM in Resident Services. However, that in-game app doesn't show whether I still have the item in storage or not. That would be helpful to know. If this new Nooklink app would tell me not only what I have cataloged but what I still have in my possession, that would be very helpful. Due to limited storage, I sold a lot of things over the last few months and gave some items away.

I forgot to mention but I wish we could somehow share our catalog list from the app for online trades.
I was waiting to confirm if this was something possible with this new feature before updating my loong list of catalog on villagerdb.
Looks like I still have to enter everything myself afterall..

Unfortunately the new app doesn't seem to tell you what's currently in your storage. Would have been useful indeed.

I love the fact that we can see the last 20 items! Up until now, I've been using my extra rooms to hold items I find to then enter them into my catalog on NookPlaza, so hopefully now I can stop doing that and just keep track on my phone. Still too lazy to decorate, though, lol. Unless they also used this update to raise the limit of items you can order daily.

Wow, it's a lot more detailed than I thought! Would have been super useful for me while I was still working on my catalogs at the start of the game. At this point in time though I can search by category and color using my own brain. The catalogs really do live rent free in my mind now. Though filtering by size is awesome, I tend to forget how some of the items are scaled.

Hope they do more of these kind of quality life improvements! Preferably in game rather than the app though. ^^

I love it! This will make it so much easier to complete my clothing catalog. I used to keep going in and out of the dressing room trying to remember which color options I needed and I would usually forget

I haven't used the Nintendo Online app before, but this looks promising so far. The background browsing feature is kind of quirky; I'll have to download and check it out later.

Hope to see them continue to upgrade this and, for example, add the ability to order items from your catalog and send gifts. The fewer spots I have to visit to do everything I need/want to do, the better! 😁

True! I can totally see the use of the "last 20 items" for that purpose!
Aah I so wish they would increase the limit you can order in your catalog per day too. Hope they will do that eventually.

Omg tell me about it!

I agree with the above posts that the new filtering options should be added in-game.
I would still see myself though using the app from my phone for instances like with @Livia 's exemple of the dressing room, or whenever I need to check my catalog for online trades but don't have my switch with me (since I really don't update it regularly on villagerdb lol). And yes it would have been nice indeed to have this feature much earlier!
