Glad to be back!
So in the spanish twitter, someone created the hashtag #tuiteacomounhetero wich translates to #tweetlikeastraight
and those tweets, like you can expect, are full of hatred towards straight people, generalising and calling them homophobes and masclists... and still people get it as a joke.
but we all know if the hashtag was something like "tweetlikeanhomo" people would get really mad and acuse people as homophobes...
Now I'm not really talking about cisphobia heterophobia or things like that (it's your belief if you think it exists or not) (and I also made a thread about it wich didnt end good so...)
but hate in general...
In this case (it is an assumption, though) LGBT+ is making fun of straight people, is that okay?
yes, it's a fact that the LGBT community is a minority and I'm not dismissing the fact it gets opressed by mostly straight people (I'm not denying either that you can hate their sexuality by being LGBT too) but I'm kind of focusing in "first world problems" such as making fun or critisizing
So now my question is something like "Is it okay to hate majorities or denying the fact?"
IMO, hate is something common that everyone has, so, I wouldn't say hating at all is bad? Or at least disliking something, cause the motive they have for hating can be more or less "acceptable" like a women who dislikes men because she got bad experiences with them or a guy who dislikes black people because he was taught like that... But, even though I think hate is something "normal" I'm obviously against any hate crimes, like murder, bullying, etc. I believe that hate should be left as an opinion, and people could attempt to change the opinion, but if the person doesnt want to, I don't think it's okay to make him feel bad for it.
For example someone who hates gay people for whatever reason, no, they don't bully gay people, they don't attack gay people, they just dislike them, they can have gay friends but they will dislike their choice (I don't want to debate if sexuality is a choice or not so just ignore that). Do you think it would be okay to despise him for it?
Okay. As you see, this is for real, a thread wich isnt bait and you can see I put effort into so I wouldnt like it to go to waste, so please, be polite with each other
