Have you received a DIY recipe from a villager outside of their house before?

Encountered this situation a little while ago and did some research online but couldn't find any mention of it. Has anyone else had this happen? Not including the event recipes on Halloween, of course! She went through the usual "What am I doing?" dialogue at the start of this too, despite doing nothing abnormal, but I hadn't realised yet so took no screenshots.

EDIT: I'm aware it's not intended to happen. This thread was made out of curiosity to see if anyone else had encountered it - not looking for an explanation as to what it is!

I've seen someone else post about this but it hasn't happened to me yet. IIRC the thread was about them receiving a Celeste recipe from a villager outside. I was hoping this feature was added so we can get elusive DIYs we were missing all these months but since Fuschia gave you a dupe I guess that's not it

Would've much rather she had given me something cool other than a birdcage!

After ~30 minutes she magically appeared back in her home and the game recognised that she had already given me the recipe she was crafting.

It's exactly that. I was just curious if anyone else had encountered it because my search of the forum and other websites turned up nothing.

She was just walking about the plaza normally.

I also remember the thread Dizzy Bone mentioned. That user was still in the beginning stages of the game, so one of their animals gave them a Rocket DIY (I think) to help get K.K. to come. Your case looks to be more like a glitch. Maybe you caught Fuschsia as she was suppose to go home and start her turn in the crafting cycle. Though, usually from what I've observed, the villagers would already be in their home before then.

This happened to me on my first island. Diva was making something and I invited my friend over and diva was outside and she got the DIY from her and the crafting villager. Never had it happen again. Wish I share proof of it

I remember there was a thread about this a few months ago where the person have not unlocked KK for months. It's probably some bad luck preventation or pushing the player to get up to 3 stars after a while.

I've actually received a DIY recipe outdoor, but it was a Bunny Day recipe. Although, my case might be embedded in-game since the conversation was normal as far as I remember.

Yours is probably a glitch? :0 Or some really new mechanic idk.

This glitch hasn't happened to me personally, but I remember seeing a thread on here about someone's villager giving them a celeste DIY outside (I think it was a rocket or something). People speculated that that was a glitch too, but ultimately determined that it happened because they didn't have 3 stars yet (and the villager was trying to help the player out by giving them a recipe). Perhaps that is somehow related to this glitch!

This should be a thing honestly. In or outside the house, DIYs (I'm looking at you seasonals) should be a lot more accessible and a not an utter pain to obtain.
