Can someone show me the color palette they use to make red/clay/brick paths? I'm driving myself crazy because I want to find a really natural, foresty-feeling path with either dirt or stepping stones. Here's the first problem: All of the pre-made paths come bordered in bright green grass and I want it to last all year. Here's an example of what I'm talking about. The mayor of Bumbury makes a point of making year-round paths, but they use beige colored stones that I don't...really like.

I decided to make my own stepping stone path based off of these, (even though I am a pixel art noob) so that I could edit the surrounding grass once fall hits AND make them a brick color instead. I made some (in gray to start out with) and they came out semi-decently. Here's the second problem: I can't seem to change them from gray to red. It seems like there a lot more dark gray shades than dark reds. I end up with orange/pink layers on the inside and it looks awful. What kind of colors are people working with when they make clay paths, brick paths, etc? Alternatively, does anyone know if there's a way to tweak other people's patterns so that I could just take a pre-made green bordered one and change it seasonally? It seems like the game actively blocks that.

I guess it would be easier to wait for Amykins to finish her mossy cobble path because she's got mad skills - but somehow it doesn't seem reasonable to ask them to do different versions of it to match the grass in each season, y'know? It doesn't feel right to pester any creator, really, about a minor pet peeve like this, even if it does churn my brain. This turned out super long so I am grateful if people read it through...heh.

Good ol' trial and error is my method. :p

I like my blue rose path for this reason - the blue looks good against the snow in winter, and they're still plants with leaves and such so it looks good in the spring and summer. Fall not so much but let's be frank, NOTHING looks good against that drab brown everywhere, blech!

I use this tool: http://www.thulinma.com/acnl/, when I want to see what colors someone used. You can also edit someone's QR code and it will change the QR based on your changes so you can scan it and use it. You'll need to find the paths QR code and save it, then upload it into the tool. You can even upload a picture and convert it to a code if you choose. It's a little cumbersome as you can't undo any actions, but I like it.

One thing the creator asks is that if you edit/recolor a pre-made pattern, give credit where it is due!
