when designing homes for clients, do you spend more time on the interior or exterior of the house? or both?

i definitely focus more on the outside, and then run low on creativity when it comes to decorating the interior

I spend barely any time on the exteriors, but I try pretty hard to make the interior look good. Sometimes I'll spend over an hour on one room. But if doesn't inspire me, like Dom and Octavian's houses, then I only take like 10 minutes do the whole shebang. I kind of phoned those ones in.

It's always the interiors for me. It feels like there's a lot more you can do with the interior than the exterior to me.

I try to make sure that both the interior and exterior look really nice but I generally enjoy doing the interiors more, so I spend more time doing them.

I never bothered decorating the exterior. Only the interior matters to me.
Unless it's a villager I really like.

Before I used to only focus on the interior, but now I've been using exterior designing as a way to help me design my own island.

Mostly interior. I often skip or barely touch the yards, but sometimes the theme is more appropriate to call for a fully decorated yard.

the interior, since it's a bigger space and therefore takes me longer to complete. i put the same amount of effort into both, but since i use a lot of the same furniture/layout for each exterior (just with certain items switched up to fit the villager) it's a little quicker. for the interior, i use one of the same two layouts, separating the room (because i haven't unlocked upper floors yet) into two halves using the partition walls and then making essentially four rooms -- a bedroom, a bathroom/study, a kitchen and a lounge. realistically, using a predetermined design should make it relatively quick, but i switch up the furniture and/or its color scheme to match each villager's style/request, as well as some of the furniture, because i don't want it to look too same-y despite the identical layouts. i especially struggle with the kitchen and the lounge, since there are only so many ways i can think to differentiate the former and i struggle to think of/find furniture to fill up the empty space in the latter. in all honesty, i haven't actually bothered to design a house in a few days lmao. most of the items i like that appear in the shop are double or even triple my current "wage", and i don't have the energy or attention span needed to design 2-3 houses in a day. i'll have to take another request soon though because i'm under 1k poki lmao rip-

I spend more time on the interior. The outside just feels pretty straight forward to me, as most of the time it is about plants rather than items.

I usually don't bother much with the outside because I'm terrible at exterior decorating lol. Only exception is if the theme is more fitting for outside.

Interior for sure! Unless it's a theme that really inspires me for the exterior, I just make it look cute enough and then go to the interior. Most of the interiors I really spend time on, unless I don't care for the theme, or the required items ruin my vision (like Norma's corpse plant).
