I played my new leaf down basically time traveling and cycling for all my dreamies

I'm considering getting my top 3 or 4 dreamies moved in via amiibos/amiibo shops and then letting the rest of them move in and leave completely randomly and just meet some new villagers. I know eventually I'm gonna want a town full of dreamies but I played so long controlling to a T who my villagers were and I think I'm gonna do a nice lil half and half for a while

Are you gonna be doing it 100% randomly/organically and letting whoever come and go and see who you get? Or are you gonna fill your island with all your dreamies right away (once you see who the new villagers are maybe) or are you gonna do a little of each?

I'm not even sure I wanna do much time traveling to start out with. Really excited to experience the brand new game organically at first (other than map and fruit resetting lol)

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Yes I want dreamies, but I don't really want to play in a way that forces me to time travel a ton. I have amiibo cards of ~30 villagers I like, so I won't have to worry about moveouts!

I`m going to have a few of my "dreamies" in my town using the amiibo cards, but the rest I want to see more organically fleshed out. I think part of the charm for me of this game is falling in love with villagers you never think you would (or could).

I need Beau, Dom, The new goat.....id like Raymond too. The rest Ill get randomly.

Yeah my friend is giving me Coco's amiibo card and then I wanna get Zucker, Kiki, and Bree on my island all for sure, and then I kinda wanna let the rest of the 6 just come in and out organically, meet some new villagers, maybe even develop new favorites. Im sure eventually I'll add more dreamies and even grow new attachments and start letting less and less villagers leave, but I'm excited to play without time traveling a ton, since I time traveled so much in New Leaf I was like a solid few years in the past LOL

I'm only gonna go out of my way to get the villagers that I really, really want. After that I'll probably just end up moving in random villagers and keep the ones that catch my eye.

Yeah i think we're in the same boat

With my switch xD

Seriously, I’m going to play it normally for the first few months, we’ll see how everything goes

I only got 3 cards from the Amiibo Festival clearance, and I think I want to get Stitches on my island. I loved him in Wild World and it took me a long time to see him in New Leaf, but I'll have to get a feel for the game first.

I’m gonna see how my island starts out, then probably move some dreamies in somewhere down the line

I always play lackadaisical. In NL, after like 4 years I adopted Coco off the forum here.

But by being chill, I met Skye and Flora and Phoebe! So I'll be happy with letting randoms move in and out.

Bruh, I felt this. Pretty sure my town is stuck in 2015. I dreaded picking up the game again because I'd have to remember when I had last played and do some backtracking. I tried to stay vigilant about writing down dates, but I'd still slip up and wind up having to wind the clock back "just to be safe." I don't want to have to do that anymore, and being able to choose which villagers move in and where is going to be huge for me!

I was thinking about this for a while! I decided it would be a better experience with some dreamies and some random ones as well. Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that it’s part of the AC charm and I agree! There’s too many cute animals to choose from anyways! I will probably get Moe and some others for sure though!
(^_^*)

I'm going to not time travel for the first time and won't use my amiibo cards until later in the game. I also plan on placing all my facilities and houses near the front beach so I can have room to terraform later without having to move buildings out of the way.

i'm using my amiibo cards ASAP, only for Hans and Gonzo though! then I'm just gonna let anyone move in and out until I get Cyd and Raymond... my island will not be complete without them ;)

I was a major time traveler in New Leaf, but I'm thinking with New Horizons, I'll try to slow down with that.
Due to everything being so customizable this time, I do want to make my island in a neat order, since plot resetting was a nightmare back in NL.

As for dreamies, I have a good bit of amiibo cards, so I'll be moving them in. I have many dreamies depending on if I go with a theme for my past towns, so I'm sure it'll be the same this time around. I'm thinking of doing a natural witchy town, which will have villagers to match that aesthetic.

I'm not planning any specific villagers. If I happen tonrun into favorites on a Nook Mile island, then sure, I'll invite them. But I am hopen to befriend villagers I wouldn't have normally considered this time around. :)
