As the title suggests, tell me how you plan on utilizing just how massive your island is, and the furniture you can put on it as well as terraforming.

I currently am trying to decide on if the entire island should have a general theme, or if I should have fun ‘pockets’ on the island that have different things going on.

Let me know!

i’m not entirely sure yet as i only have a few ideas down but i plan on having my shopping district up on the cliffs with some seasonal decorations and cedar trees - i also might have one of my side character’s live up there. i plan on having a picnic area and i already am utilizing my beaches with a palm tree lamp forest, mermaid cove, a lil campfire, etc. that’s about all i have rn but i gotta come up with more because damn my island is huge lmao

Right now I’m still focusing on the area of the map we started in. Planning on putting all the buildings in that area, so visitors don’t have to trek up to the third tier on the other side of my map to shop or visit the museum.

I’ve had some paths laid out, but I can’t place a bridge in the desired location until I do some trimming once I unlock the landscaping permit. I know where I want my shops, and thinking of putting the museum where my house currently is, but not 100% certain, since I’m starting to like where my house is.

Also, trying to get some of the white Nook Miles items, like the lamppost, drink/snack machine, lifeguard chair, public benches, etc.
So if anyone has any if the white items (other than the lighthouse, park clock, and telephone box) hit me up :D

But yeah, I’m liking the direction my town is going, and it helps to only focus on one section at a time.

I am totally with you on keeping the main buildings in a more central area. Also unrelated I would totally be willing to trade my white drink machine for your white park clock! PM me ♥️

i ended up terraforming a bunch to make a temporary island layout with a lot of natural area. eventually i will likely redo my whole layout, but i am waiting until i get more items and ideas in turn to really go full force!

i do know that eventually i want to have my island be different sectors: a zen waterfall area, a barbecue / recreation area, my plaza and museum together, hamphrey (my all time favorite villager) and i have a whole space to ourselves, a rivertown, a desert themed cafe side character with food themed villagers nearby, a garden center side character where i keep a huge fruit tree orchard and breed hybrids, and a shopping district where i put a neighborhood of snooty / peppy villagers nearby!

because of how big the island is, i think that breaking it down into smaller neighborhoods / districts will keep it less overwhelming for me.

i'm not even sure yet tbh, the island is MASSIVE and there's no PWP this time around that will limit us. i'm only very decided that i'll still have the zen section though. whew my spa area in new leaf is still my favorite up to this day, looks amazing with the bamboos. i can only image how better it would look with terraforming.

also want to have a cafe of my own since we got no brewster yet :(

Because my island is double south, I'm separating one part into a shopping center and then lining up all of the houses.
It's hard to put my vision into words, but it's going to look awesome when i'm finished!

About 1/3 of my island is going to be a dedicated campsite/ retreat! I love camping irl and the campsite in game is so cute. It will have it's own forest and river area, with plenty of room for chairs, fires and outdoor-sy goodness! I'm also planning on having a big house, garden and orchard for myself, near the museum which will have it's own dinosaur park!
