For me I I found the game wild world back in 2007. I was playing around with friends and I found that I fell in love with the game.
I picked up new leaf about a year or two after the game was completely done and updated. Before then I was playing animal Crossing wild world and I just kind of felt unsatisfied with it.
Naturally, I missed out on a lot of stuff from New leaf but I'm happy I jumped on the New horizons bandwagon when I did,

my mom bought a used gamecube from eBay for my brother's birthday back in 2008, and it came with a controller, a memory card, and a few games. one of the games happened to be Animal Crossing. that was my fateful introduction to the series and I'm so glad I got to play it when I was still a kid :)

i literally have no idea. but it started with pocket camp {unfortunately}, went to new leaf when i got a 3ds, then i got new horizons, and then i got wild world :) i missed out on a legit animal crossing game until pocket camp came out. it was ok but i absolutely loved new leaf which made me like the series so im hopefully gonna get population growing soon :)

My brother introduced me to AC for the GameCube. He always got Nintendo Power and read up on all the games so that's how he found out about it and bought it. I used to visit and play games with him weekly, so he got me to start up my own town on his spare memory card. He knew I would love it because of how much I love animals.

After the GameCube, I went a while without playing the series because I never keep up with stuff like that. But I re-discovered the series with New Leaf thanks to chuggaconroy's Let's Play and it sucked me right back in.

I was spending time with my relative and they let me played WW on their Ds and I enjoyed it.

Years later I got NL and I enjoyed it

My sister and brother-in-law. I would walk by the tv and see them playing...and the amount of times I told them 'that looks stupid.' I couldn't even count. Then I began noticing small things...like them writing letters to each other, or I'd witness a villager being an ass to them, and slowly I started sitting down and watching them play for longer and longer periods.

Then I finally broke and got the game for myself...and as soon as I was introduced to Tom Nook's loan plans I was hooked. Everything that came along with it (bugs, fishing, turnips etc.) was just a bonus.

I went to hang out at a friend's house back in 2002 and they were playing it when I arrived. I liked what I saw and got a copy of my own soon thereafter and we would play it together sometimes.

Up until City Folk, I assumed it was a one-off game. I didn't know about Wild World when it was current. I got City Folk and never really enjoyed it because the dialogue felt barren, I found it a pain to earn bells, and I didn't like playing with the Wiimote. I gave New Leaf a chance after that and am glad I did because it became my favorite in the series and I have multiple copies of it. Never bothered with Amiibo Festival or Pocket Camp, but I've been playing New Horizons on and off since its launch.

In the mid 00's my cousin got it from a friend of his to borrow. We loved it, the owner didn't. He traded the game and original memory card for five bucks and an Eminem CD.
Now tell me that's not the best deal you've ever seen.

I discovered it by one of those commercials with the people dressed in those mascot suits. I was renting the game so much from a video rental store that the workers just gave me the copy. I became hooked on Animal Crossing and that was that. Once Wild World released, I had my dad drive to a bunch of different game stores to find a copy. After the seventh one, they finally had it in stock. I couldn’t believe how popular the game was.

my mom bought me wild world for christmas back in 2006-2007, and my obsession started there! i never saw any animal crossing advertisements until new leaf, so i’m really thankful my mom introduced me to the series when she did. :’)

I swear it was like fate because out of nowhere I kept getting Animal Crossing related videos and animations in my YouTube recommended tab in 2012-2013 so naturally I watched them, I really liked what I saw and then I got NL for Christmas in 2014!

made a friend on a holiday to an island somewhere near greece i think and played on their 3ds! think i had mario kart and another mario game at the time, though they had animal crossing!! i created a new profile and started shaking apple trees and sold them at the retail like a true icon

It was mostly Super Smash Bros and Mario Kart 8 because I really enjoyed playing as Isabelle which got me curious on what game series she was from and now here I am with 250 hours of play time XD

pretty sure i asked for wild world for christmas, which means i likely circled it in the argos catalogue. or i saw it being sold at a carboot sale -- one near us always had a couple of game stands, especially during 2007/8, and we went almost every sunday -- and convinced my parents to buy me it since i had a DS. both options are likely.

i was 9 years old and i was bored so i would usually go to the eshop to look at games even though i didn’t have any money. i was looking at the videos and trailers they have on there and i saw reggie’s new leaf house tour video. i saw how you could decorate your own house and how so much things were customizable which is something that i had never seen before, that’s when i knew i needed to get this game. i became obsessed and here i am with new horizons 7 years later.

My brother bought Population Growing (ACGC) and started playing it. I would watch him play it and be like "wow this looks so kiddie" etcetc and was mad judgmental towards it 😂 😂 😂 (I was like 12 at the time). And then I started playing it and was like ohhh my godddddd lol and fell in love it.

i remember my brother got me a brand new 3ds and i was sp happy (he bought some games with it too) i choose acnl bc it sounded and bc t was the time where acnh was coming out and ya that basically it

Few years ago, I saw someone posting screenshots of Pocket Camp on Instagram, so I started playing it and I loved it (I still play it today :)). Then, I got into New Leaf, and New Horizons.

I wished I discovered the series earlier. 😞

My dad imported AF in 2001 (imported lots of games and toys back in the day), played it on N64. Then when it came to GameCube, we got it on there. Been playing ever since. I'm happy to have been able to grow up with the series.
