How did you get into TBT?

I’m a newcomer - I was sinking deep deep into my obsession with ACNH and by May 2020 playing the game incessantly wasn’t enough. I also needed to obsessively discuss it. And that’s how (with help from google searches) I ended up here with all of you lovely people, on one of the best places on the internet.

I used to play a lot of NL, and one day I stumbled upon these forums while surfing the web and I figured I could make an account here to get some furniture and stuff that I wanted for my town. Another reason why I joined was because there was also an active thread there where you can request town tunes to be made from different music, and I wanted to see my favorite songs become little in-game jingles. (Thanks for being part of the community, kiwikenobi!)

After some inactivity that came from the loss of my N2DS, I returned months later, with plans to begin an island in NH called Westward. Actually, I wasn't as active as I am now when I was trying get the 5-star rating because at the time I was still concerned with getting what I needed. At some point I experienced burnout so I took a break from NH and the forums for a while.

And after completing almost everything there was to complete in Pokémon Scarlet (another game I have), I got bored and decided to return to NH to channel my love for the game (and especially for a certain main character from The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero). Subsequently I began to post more in The Bell Tree, and here I am. I think I'm gonna be active here for quite a while.

This is the only part of the Animal Crossing community I'll trust. I've made accounts on other websites like Nookazon and DodoCodes.com and got overwhelmed by their nature after a while. Everyone here in TBT is generous, active, and friendly, and I appreciate sharing the forums with you all!

I’m super new, I mainly wanted to trade/buy items for New Leaf. Thanks to everyone who helped out, btw!

That said, I’d like to stay around because I just vastly prefer forums to social media. I’ve always felt this way, even back when MySpace was the hot new thing lol

I’m very grateful these fora are still active and have so many features!

I joined at the beginning of 2015 to get the tokonoma and other items I couldn't find in ACNL, I don't remember how I found the site. I discovered more than just trading items, I also had a lot of fun with events and all other members.

I joined near the end of May in 2015. I honestly don’t remember much like how I found the site or what made me decide to join. I know at the time I probably was nervous about trading with people since I never did it before. I do remember the first friend I made here from trading; she no longer is active here though sadly.

If I recall correctly, someone on Tumblr mentioned the site so I checked it out. I like forums so I decided to stay. I'm really glad it's still here, even though I only drop by occasionally.

New Horizons had just released and I wanted to find other people to play the game with and after having good experiences on Pokemon forums wanted to try entering the Animal Crossing fandom.

I've only been here a few months but I was randomly searching online for places to do some more online New Leaf stuff when the server was still up. And for possible online stuff for New Horizons which I had just started. Other Animal Crossing places I came across seemed dead but this site is thriving. And there's lots of people here who like my other favorite Nintendo games as well. Also personally I prefer the format of a forum over other types of social sites, there aren't many active ones around these days. Wish I had found it sooner tbh

i googled on seeing if it was possible to emulate an ac game on pc and found this site! it looked really cute and comfy, so i signed up shortly afterwards!

I had a negative experience with this site. Initially, I joined the site without fully understanding its rules or community expectations. As a result, I unintentionally made a poor impression on other users, which led to me receiving warnings from the site moderators. These warnings made me look bad, as they highlighted the mistakes I made. The overall experience was disheartening, and I felt regretful about how things turned out.

A unique story: So I knew about TBT for over 10 years but back then it wasn't as active as other forums so I didn't join.
Back in 2020 I made a YT video showing the new Animal Crossing manga that just came out in a Japanese magazine, and someone here made a thread about it.
When I was looking at my video analytics, I saw I had a number of views from TBT. The site was a lot more active than the last time I had seen it, so I decided to join!

I always saw the site when I first played New Leaf and learned how to use Google as a child 😂 The guides and threads always helped me and I eventually made an account when I learned that was a thing haha. Everyone is so amazing on here and I am so glad I did join 💚🐸🍓🌟

Back in the New Leaf era, I created the town of StarFall. When I was on GameFAQs, I’ve been hearing about an Animal Crossing site called Bell Tree Forums. I decided to join just to share my town of StarFall and share my thoughts on Animal Crossing. Now I’m here for the collectibles and events.

It was when I was playing New Leaf. I needed a community to help me fill my catalogue. Also I was obsessed with balloons and since I didn't go out much I didn't have them with streetpass so I bought them on the forum!

I have a similar experience-
Joining during New Leaf for villager trading (was never interested in items) , showed a bit of my art, then later coming back right before New Horizons to do Amiibo card trading- then coming back after New Horizons died down to do more amiibo card trading then... staying for the collectibles and art stuff I guess!

I hate to admit it, but I did not play any Animal Crossing before New Horizons. And if I remember correctly, I was searching for furniture, and here I am four years later!

I was very very very into ACNH at the time, more than I’d ever been into Animal Crossing in my entire life. The site kept popping up in my google results, so I decided to check it out and got hooked.

i was looking for some more items and different colour variants for my island when i came across the bell tree and saw the threads about selling items, materials, diys, etc so i joined and started building up my bells in order to get hold of my wishlist items.
during the time the 2020 winter event was happening so there was a lot going on, i didn’t take part in it but it did make me curious and soon after that there was the winter story writing event, which again i didn’t take part in but i liked that there was something frequently going on. started getting to know the lovely people around the forum, made some fab friends, and then took part in my first event - the 2021 egg hunt - got into the collectible scene and haven’t looked back 😄

I ended up joining to see what it’s all about after being on animal crossing community for a while. Eventually I kind of migrated over here 😂

I joined to be able to to trades, but ended up staying for the community and got into collectible trading too :) I can't wait for the forum to get all busy with item trades again when the new game finally arrives!
