How do I close a thread?

I've done it in the past and I know their used to be a option, I just don't see it and I'm very confused.

In the bar right above the first post on a page you can see a dropdown list titled "Administrative tools" You can open that and choose to close the thread.

You're not allowed to close threads in certain forums (this forum right here being one of them). You're normally able to do what chees4mees said.

From memory you can only close threads in the tbt marketplace, re-tail, train station, and villager trading plaza (might be forgetting one). All other boards you can't close your own threads
