in the older animal crossings he was in the train with u
so maybe on ur way to the plane he will be on there and ask u questions
but u can change ur character from the start
so idk how it will really work
what are u guys theories?

I imagine he’ll be next to us in the plane asking us questions. He’s done this every game minus Wild Workd, so no reason to change now imo.

My guess is that he's not on the plane with you because on the plane, it'd most likely be only you (your character), Nook, Timmy and Tommy and the two random villagers who take the package with you. He might be replaced with someone else on the plane, such as how Kapp'n took his role in wild world.

Rover will be in the game somehow, but yes, like the person above me said, the only people with you at the start are Tom Nook and Timmy and Tommy. It's most likely that Tom Nook himself will ask you what you look like, what your name is and what your town will look like (If possible)

Ooo, what if Nook asks to see your passport and you can choose how you look like when you pass it to him?

What? No. I was thinking on how the face will be asked similar to how it did in Happy Home Designer.

A funny idea for an opening sequence I had right off the bat was: You're sitting on the plane in first person, taking you to the deserted island. Bored, you pull out a magazine/brochure. Inside is a personality test made by Rover that asks you to fill in the blanks about yourself i.e. "What color are your eyes? Hair color? etc.. A short cutscene displaying the questions on the quiz will take you to the character customization screen like in pocket camp. From there, you design your character and the plane lands, you're ready to start your new life on this barren, lord of the flies-esque deserted island lmao

I am so curious how they'll handle the opening scene. its one of the most important parts in the game :0

He finally got a job and became the pilot of the plane that brings you and the others to the island.

Ok, that's the best idea ever and also pretty creative.

That's what he was saying but he got more creative with it

I dont see where Rover will fit in this game. Maybe Rover will hook us up into the Desert Island Getaway Package by calling Nook. Actually that makes a lot of sense. Rover always end up helping us out. In the original, he calls Nook to get us a house. In new leaf, he gives up his mayor job so we can take it (I know he was suppose to be the mayor)

Neat idea! Very creative! I'm not sure how Rover will be in the game. Who knows? He might not be. Though I'm sure he will be implemented in there somehow. Like a couple of other people have said, he's always helping us out in some way or another in the beginning of the game. :)

In City Folk, he was there during the opening sequence (the screen you're able to change the time or delete your town) so maybe he could return to there? Just to give him something to do. I'm sure they would figure out something more important for Isabelle to do, so I'm sure she wouldn't mind being removed from that position.

I can't really think of anything else he could do that wouldn't be taken by other characters. In my opinion it's either that or some completely new feature. I would hope they don't just get rid of Rover altogether (or make him into a normal villager). He's way too iconic to do that.

Actually I suppose he could be there before your character boards the plane. Would make sense, since Rover is almost always the first character you talk to in an AC game.

I'm hoping they decide to use him for more than the beginning of your game. He was very forgettable in New Leaf, having no role outside of that beginning.

i could see him sitting down next to you at an airport before firing off his classic line of questions. the cutscene would be in first person, and perhaps after or during character customization (maybe in a small mirror of sorts?) rover asks about where you're going and all that.
