How do you add Sanrio furniture items?

I'll have the Sanrio cards by today or tomorrow. I've read that you need to scan the amiibo in to get the furniture items, but where? Do I just need to scan them in at the ABD machine in Resident Services like I was inviting them to my island, or do I need to scan them as permanent amiibo through the Switch settings menu. Thanks for any input.

You can scan them on Harvey’s island and they’ll be available right after. They’ll be in the promotion tab with the Mario items.

Scan them at harvs island and then the items will be in the promotions tab at the nook terminal in resident services

There is a way you can still get the Sanrio items without the cards but it requires trading with other people. He's the bad part while you can still get the item itself you cannot catalog it. Thats the only thing thats so restrictive about this Sanrio update is that they really limited what you cannot do when you don't have the Sanrio Amiibo Cards

Ha, I haven't been to Harv's island since the first week of the game a year ago. I had no idea there was a special place there to scan amiibos. Hopefully it's self-explanatory when I get there. Thanks all, appreciate the help.

Just in case:
Once you’re there, press the down arrow button to go into decorate mode, there will then be a pop-up explains how to scan amiibos.

Btw, it you only want the furniture and don't care for the posters, it also works when you scan their amiibos at the Nook Stop. You don't even have to invite them to the campsite, the Switch just have to register the amiibo and they will show up then at the promotion tab too.

I didn't realize scanning them at Harvey's would add their items to the shopping app. I'd scanned them in one at a time once a day to invite them to the campsite. Fortunately, I didn't really miss anything since I could only order five items a day anyway, but I would have probably scanned the in differently if I'd known, to invite the ones I wanted first rather than going for the items. Oh, well. It's all the same in the end. ^o^;>
