How do you deal with glasses?

My dog destroyed my glasses cleaner so they are super foggy now as well.
And nothing else seems to clean them.
Theyre just the worst aren't they!

Have yoy tried dish soap? That always gets mine sparkling clean for me

I've got glasses I barely wear for Astigmatism that I didn't even know I had til a couple of years ago. I literally went through life thinking that if everyone looked at things from a certain angle then they too would see it blurry. I would sometimes make things blur on purpose when I was a kid, cos...I dunno, kids are weird. It wasn't until wayyyy into adulthood that I got my eyes tested due to headaches and they found this. I think it's mild though, but I will wear them if the headaches start and that helps.

They take some getting used to. If they're slipping a lot they may need tightening, but you could also try dapping a little baby powder on the parts that touch your face to prevent it? Eventually I guess you just adjust, I'm not sure. Sometimes mine feel too big and heavy, so I get what you're saying. I have wide set eyes so use bigger frames and I think that means they're a bit heavier. If I needed to wear them all the time I would look into getting a better pair, but it feels unnecessary for the amount I use them. I had far more trouble adjusting to hearing aids when I was a kid, cos they felt so uncomfortable in my ears all the time and the old ones were a bit tinny with their sound, so it was a bunch of overwhelming noise with the occasional screech/whistle from the damn things. I learned to lip read and haven't really worn them regularly since secondary school. I do wonder if I'd stuck with them for longer I would've just stopped noticing them and especially once I got digital ones. But I was too impatient and grumpy about it haha.

When I was a small kid I would dread having to get glasses. Sadly that day came when I was in middle school. I don't use them whenever I can get away with it, which is basically only when I'm half asleep in bed and don't care about seeing anyway. Been not wanting to get a new pair so I've had tape on mine for the last few months lol. I could probably just hot glue them or something though

I've worn glasses since I was eight years old. Getting used to depth perception was difficult when you're the kid who likes to run around a lot, but I made it work. I like wearing cute, black glasses : the kinds i'm wearing have cute, owl-like frames. What's especially cool about them is that the temples are screwed in: whenever the they start loosening up, I can simply tighten the screws back up and they're good as new.

Semi-unrelated, but am I the only one who wants their lenses to be cleaned perfectly? They have to have no blemishes, 'fuzzies', or smears. I clean them at least six times a day ...

I'm guilty of only wearing my glasses when I genuinely need them (which is literally only when I'm in class). I'm nearsighted so I have trouble reading things from far away.

I don’t. I wear contacts. I only wear glasses when in bed and sometimes fall asleep in them. Then my cat tries to push them off my face in order to give me better head bonks.

I wear glasses at work though it's not for correcting vision so they are easier to get used to wearing than your kind. It still took some adjustment though.

I wear them as I find staring at a computer screen all day uncomfortable and straining. They help block out blue light. At first I was not used to having frames in my vision and I had a horrible habit of getting smudges on them all the time which I hate. I just pushed through it though. Tried to ignore the frames and always made sure they were clean before I put them on. Overtime I got used to them. Trying not to think about them helps the most as now I often even forget I even have them on.

Heck, if I don't have them on I can feel the light of my monitor stinging my eyes so I actually can't work without them anymore.

I hate wearing glasses. I’ve worn them since I was 8 and I still find them clunky. They get scratched too easily. I’m so paranoid of damaging my lenses that I carry a fiber cloth wherever I go. I also don’t like how they look on my face. My moms say they look fine, but to me they’ve always made my cheeks look puffier and rounder. To this day I still feel uncomfortable looking at my face in the mirror with glasses on.

I got used to it. The rims are annoying at first but I no longer think about them. When you get new glasses things will look weird and closer than they actually are but your eyes will adjust. I just got new glasses tomorrow and it was weird how there's a very slight fish eye lens to my sight.

I just wear them and over time it's become something I incorporate in my style if they have nice affordable frames. I was a bad kid and didn't start wearing them regularly until I was 15.. bad move lol.

I tried contacts but I've too small eyes and not worth the effort taking them in and out really.

I've worn glasses since second grade and I have astigmatism. My parents always urged me to try contacts because no one could see how "handsome" I was because of the glasses. That never really bothered me, but I got tired of them bothering me about it. I got a pair a few months ago, but I never tried putting them in until the other day. I think my eyes are way too small and narrow for contacts. It would be cool for people to see my face better, but I'm to the point where I don't care anymore.

I wear glasses every day since I was 12. You just have to get used to them. I forget they're there. The feeling of being able to see clearly heavily outweighs any discomfort I may have.

My glasses have rubber feet on the nose bridge to stop them from sliding. I have oily skin so washing my face, especially my nose, stops them from sliding. My glasses don't really feel heavy, I gave metal/plastic hybrid frames. The arms are metal and the bottom rim is metal also but the top and the arm ends are plastic. Softer on my ears. I'd try different frames til you find some that are comfy.

I wear glasses since 3rd grade. You get used to them. It’s not normal for glasses to slip or be uncomfortable, you can have them adjusted by an optician.

I can still see very good without my but if I don't wear them then I will get bad headaches. They do keep getting loose, like 3 times it happened last year and I'm tired of having them re adjusted so I didn't bothered this time. Got hit in the face 2 times last year which caused my glasses to be loose. It is annoying that they fall down over n over. Someday i'll get them fix when I'm nearby.

I don't mind glasses but they can be bothersome. Sliding off my face, finding ones that fit, etc.. I just deal with it since I rather not use contact lenses lol

I tend to buy cheap frames so I can many different styles for different occasions.

i find glasses kinda annoying too. i usually wear glasses when i'm at home, but contacts when i'm out and about. i really wish i could wear contacts 24/7, since they sorta feel like small shields for your eyes. i'm invulnerable to breezes and light drizzles

I don't mind wearing glasses but the thing that bugs me is how the nose bridge digs into my nose. Usually have to take them off for a while as I can see up close its far away I have problems with. I hate anyone seeing me without my glasses!

I noticed you said you get headaches. I only ever had headaches when the glasses were overly huge or when the prescription is incorrect or old.
I also like big frames, but sometimes they aren’t comparable with the frame of my face. This can cause dizziness or headaches. I’ve found a particular style that I like, and I get these same shape each year, but with different colors. My advice would be to go in one day and try on all glasses until you find the right ones for you. I go every year and check my vision. When I’m there, I love to try on a bunch of different glasses. I’ve settled on a location who also lets me buy the glasses and I could return them if I’m not satisfied. Last year, I opted for a larger frame than usual. Even though I loved the glasses, I had to return them. They were giving me major headaches, and their weight also hurt me. I went back and exchanged them for my usual frames and I’m feeling much better.

Though lately, I haven’t been seeing as good. Very blurry far away. Its definetly a reminder it’s time to go get my eyes checked.

A good option as well is to look into lasik surgery. I’ve been wanting it for a while, so that I don’t have to wear glasses anymore. Unfortunately for me, my eyesight is not stable ever. It changes every year. Which disqualifies me from being eligible for the procedure. It might be a viable option for you though.

Honestly I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 14 years old. You just get used to it. The frames don’t really bother me until someone points it out lol and then I see the rims. Mine don’t fall off frequently thankfully. I have plastic frames so I think that’s why and they’re not heavy at all. You’ll get used to the headaches, that’s only because it’s a new prescription. I have a headache for about a week and can’t see for a week properly because my eyes are adjusting. The only thing that have ever bothered me was the scratches on the frames. I’ve thought about getting contacts to send them in but I’m lazy of course.
