after what happened last night it got me thinking (now that i'm not a worried sad mess. just a worried mess now.) how do you feel about bugs? do you have a certain one you are scared of/have a phobia? do you kill them? catch them? keep them? think they are cute? can't stand them?

i'm normally ok with them as long as they aren't on me with a few exceptions like butterflies, caterpillars, worms, rolly-pollys, beetles, ect. basically anything ya can catch, look at ,then let it fly/crawl off and won't hurt you those guys can chill on my hand.

i do my best to avoid killing and catch and release if i find one in my room or space. however...misquotes can f right the f off and die same with flies. ....and some ants that need to stay out mah kitchen *cough*...i keep it super clean and yet they still be bringing balloons and crap yelling "PARTY OVER HEEEERRRREEEEEEE!!!! B.Y.O.B (bring your own bread)" no..bad ants.

spiders scare me...i have a huge phobia even though i think the jumping spiders and the bold jumper (just a big jumping spider) are cute af. if they are far away i'm fine. on me...NOPE! they can chill in the corners of the ceiling away from me or in spots i don't know or see, if i can't see you or know you are there we cool spider but the second you get on my sleeping area or a place i can see and reach your butt is evicted. sorry. i even name them sometimes.

i like to watch bugs outside but i never keep them as they got jobs to do and little buggie things to make happen.

bees are cute too but i've been stung so much as a kid (on the playground there was a nest under a climbing bit and i always got stung in the knee.) i don't wanna have it with them so i just say hi and watch. but cute fuzz butts are cute plus they are yellow and i like yellow.

I hate them and want them far away from me as possible. One's I hate most are roaches, flies, stinkbugs, and these new ugly spotted laternflies that are literally everywhere late summer-autumn.

Only bugs I don't mind are dragonflies. They look very cool and are pretty intelligent too.

I had a cockroach phobia, but now I just deal with them if I see one.

I can handle snakes, lizards, mice, rats, but bugs, not so much.

Maybe if they were a different color.

I love all animals and this extends to bugs. I think several of them can be quite cute and I almost never kill them. The only exception to that rule is if they mess with my dog. I use a preventative, but if he does manage to get fleas, I have to protect him first and foremost. Any ticks I find get pulled off and deposited back outside. Again, I use a preventative on my dog so he rarely gets them.

Otherwise, I have a live and let live policy with bugs in my house. If the bug is in an inconvenient place or I think it could get hurt, I'll relocate it outdoors, but if not it's free to scurry along back to the basement or into the walls or wherever else it may be spending the majority of its time.

When we were kids, my brother caught a cricket and kept it as a pet for quite a while. He also had a pet cockroach at one point. But I don't advocate keeping bugs as pets. I think they're better off left in their natural habitat.

I absolutely adore spiders of all shapes and sizes. I'm fascinated by them and how much variety they have in their species. I also love butterflies, dragonflies, moths, praying mantis, stick bugs, leaf bugs, fireflies, june bugs, ladybugs and many more.

I think bugs are cute.... outside... if they’re in my house I won’t hesitate to show them the door.
do you just shoo them out with whatever you have on hand, use your hands, or do you have a bug catcher bottle?

dragonflies are pretty cool. i've never seen a spotted lantenfly in person before but they look pretty in the pictures i just saw.

do you "deal with them" like gangster way, shoo them out, or just ignore them?

I like some bugs! But I don't really want them in my house lol

I really like dragonflies/damselflies, butterflies, mantises, and jumping spiders and would even consider keeping one of them as a pet if I felt that I could properly care for it

harvestmen are pretty cool, too

but then I dislike a lot more bugs, for example, I have a phobia of roaches and dislike any 'creepy-looking' spiders (IE; hairless ones like huntsman)

I once shot a cockroach with a pump action.

That was years ago. Now I just use Mortein.

I don't freak out anymore, I just get rid of them.
I don't even like hurting a cockroach.
Honestly, I'd prefer it if I could just reason with them, like, "Listen, mate. I don't want you in the house. I'll give you some tucker, if you promise to stay outside permanently. Do we have a deal son?"

Like that. :)

dawww i like that alot. ughhhh ticks make me icky too =( just cuz i've had to remove them more than once from my sisters dog...we use the preventative too but those things are pesky. what would you say is your number one bug buddy?

i don't like them, but for the most part i tolerate them. bugs are only scary and gross if they can hurt me or are way too close to me, if they crawl on me both them and i will die. i understand that they are important though and i try to not kill them when possible.

i recently had a Huge spider that was faster than usain bolt run around my bathroom. it was gross and i couldn't pick it up to take it outside because it was too fast and i ddn't have a jar. ended up not doing anything about it and trying to tell myself it left and totally didn't run around the house being its gross self,

i have an interesting relationship with bugs. i've always thought they were fascinating, and some are even cute, but because of bad experiences as a kid and generally heightened anxiety levels, any time i see one or hear one buzzing by my ear it activates my fight or flight reflex. i've gotten better about it over the years, but yeah. because of that, i sometimes won't hesitiate to kill a bug if i can do so safely and without my brain freaking out on me, but also, if a bug can just kind of... stay away from me and just chill? that's even better. no bugs die, i don't have to fight an insect, it's a win-win.

my partner loves insects and will let them crawl on them and will handle them to rescue them, and while i applaud them for it, i absolutely cannot do it. lizard brain says bug bad, even if normal human brain says otherwise.

I actually like bugs, except those commoners, flies, ants, cockroaches and spiders. I know they're arachnids but still, I kill them until they turn to powder. :D

Cicadas, beetles and dragonflies are really cool looking, it's just...California doesn't have them so what can you do :V
Butterflies and ladybugs, they're cute and I enjoy seeing them at spring and summer. I wish mantises were here though. Honestly, I think games have got me a better viewing to bugs.

this made me laugh hard and i spooked my sisters dog who was sleeping at my feet. i played that whole thing in my head only it was vinnie jones talking to the roach.

Hmmm...my number one would be spiders, but they are technically arachnids. I'll pick them up and talk to them and let them crawl over my hand.

But if I were to go with an actual bug, I think it'd be fireflies. I used to catch them on summer nights as a child. I didn't keep them, just scooped them out of the air, watched them blink in my hand for a few minutes, then let them fly away. I think they're lovely.

If it?s like a cricket I?ll use my hands but if it?s a spider I use a cup!

your partner is a brave soul and has my respect like i can only pick up and handle beetles and stuff but most of the time i use empty medicine bottles scoop em and relocate them. i sometimes wish bugs could talk, cough, and fart...cuz i mean come on a tiny bee fart would sound so funny and cute.

you...are...so freaking brave...i can't right now...you have my full respect holy balls. i wish i could do that.

If it?s like a cricket I?ll use my hands but if it?s a spider I use a cup!
do you just open and toss or do you walk to the grass and gently place it down? cuz my oldest sis like flings them but she also prefers to kill them while me and my other sis like to catch and let go.

well, usually they use a mug and a piece of paper, but mostly because it's easier to make sure you don't hurt the bug that way. i can do that sometimes, but sometimes uh. not so much.

I love bugs, my favorites being praying mantises and bumblebees. The only varieties I don't care for are spiders, earwigs, and centipedes, though I won't kill any of them and prefer to just take them outside!

I agree with you re: mosquitoes though. Those aren't bugs; those are just whining disease factories that can stay FAR away from me unless they like being unapologetically swatted.

I really want to hold a chilean rose, or a mexican red knee tarantula. Though I'm not a fan of spiders in general, those tarantulas are as big as mice, and I used to breed mice and rats.

Holding a tarantula is on my bucket list. :)
I think they look cuddly.
