Maybe I don't understand the options properly because I don't have a North American accent, but I pronounce it pia-nist (or pia-nuhst), with no emphasise on an "an" sound. 🤷‍♀️😊

I usually pronounce it as either pee-ah-nist or pee-ann-ist, so I chose the first option. I've heard a lot of variations but those tend to be the most common from my experience.

On Webster they give two pronunciations pē-ˈa-nist , ˈpē-ə-nist.

I say pee ann ist

Whenever I encounter that word and have reason to say it out loud, I tend to just say, "piano player." ^o^;>

But in my head, reading it, I hear "PEE-uh-nist," which I don't see in the poll, actually, so maybe I'm think-saying it wrong. XD

I've never heard anyone pronounce it as pea-nessed. I pronounce it pea-ann-ist, but I definitely have heard some pronounce it pea-uh-nessed.

I gotta admit, I don't fully understand the pronunciations on the poll, but I pronounce it pee-an-ist with "pee" said quite quickly if that makes sense? So I dunno if that means I pronounce it pean-ist? 🙃

USA person here. Never heard it any way other than pea-ann-ist, 3 distinct syllables. maybe a bit more like pea-yann-ist though.

mostly the first option. found out if you're not saying it carefully enough, it'll come out sounding like another word

The first option is the way I’d say it now that I’ve tried to think about it in my mind a few times just now.
