Like the title says, how far do you want to complete your game? I know technically animal crossing has no end but with so many things to collect and achievements to complete I want to know how much of it you'd want to do. Like, do you play the game only to complete the look of your island or do you also want to complete your catalogue or DIY list, not to mention all the bugs, fishes and sea creatures and the nook achievements.
Personally I want to collect all the critters for the museum, get all the DIYS and craft them at least once, and get all the nook mile achievements. If I don't get tired of the game by then I think I'd try to complete my catalogue but not necessarily have all color variants.

I've completed my museum now.

I need a few more stamps but they are also pretty far off completion since some are so hard to do. But once I have them all done I will consider my game "complete".

Not that completing it will make me stop playing. Because there is always fun to be had.

Well considering I am already done with the game, all I want to do on my agenda is make 2nd island, but can't do that due to one island per switch issue. Been thinking about getting a 2nd switch to solve this problem, but I am still going to hold off on it for now. Inb4 anyone says "oh just restart or flatten your island" I have no plans on doing that. EVER!

I’m so close to completing my museum on my main island. I only need one more painting. I plan on getting the DIYS I’m missing and getting the nook mile achievements for all four of my characters. I still have a long way to go with completing my museum on my second island but will get there one day. I have a set villager list for each island but want to see other villager first. It will a long time before I complete either island.

I am perfectly content with my completed museum and all DIYs collected. I would love to collect all gyroids as well if they return.

I have no motivation to get all Nook achievements because I'm too lazy to even dive just for thousands of critters, or break hundreds of flimsy axes to get the golden axe. I also doubt I'll catalog all clothes because there's simply WAY TOO MANY. I don't even wear every piece of clothing I buy.

Getting the nook mile achievements for four characters is going to be a huge task, just thinking of my single character is driving me crazy, good luck!! lol

I miss the gyroids so much, I hope they return too. I completely forgot about the clothes, I might just stick to furniture lol..

I don't blame you on the Nook Mile Achievements. I mean its just Nook Miles. Don't know what else is there to use with them other than just spending them all on Nook Mile Tickets just to go villager hunting.

I consider the game complete after I get all the critters, complete all the nook miles achievements, get all photos from villagers that live on my island, and try to catalogue every item available. Not counting the colour variations, though. It's too much work for a small payoff.

Yea four characters on two islands. Thank you , it will take a long time but that’s ok since I will always have something to do.

It's a very hard question because there is. so. much. stuff. I have set some goals and classified them to help myself:

Long term achievable goals
Completing the museum
Completing the catalog with at least one color of each item
Collecting and crafting at least once each DIY
Completing the catalog of all customizable variants
Getting all the Nook Miles Stamps

Long term not so easily achievable goals
Getting at least one of all available items, including those absent from the catalog
Completing the catalog with all color variants for furniture
Completing the catalog with all color variants for clothing

These are the goals left, I think. I already got all flower hybrids, received a photo from my 10 neighbors and got all the DAL rewards. So if I'm able to achieve the first category, I would feel I "finished" the game. The second category may come down to trading with people if I get tired of trying to do it by myself, so it boils down to the fact of getting the help needed afterwards.

I'd also consider the game 'complete' once you've completely decorated your island, completed the whole museum, done all of the nook miles achievements + probably also having all the DIYs. if you really want to push the boat out then completing the catalogue would really be a nail in the coffin, or if you have 10 permanent villagers then getting all their pictures would be on there but I rotate out all of mine except one.
personally I know for a fact I'm never going to complete all the nook miles achievements, and while getting all the DIYs would certainly be possible if I put in a little more effort it's not currently one of my goals. decorating my island the way I want to is my main 'goal' of the game alongside completing the museum, so once I've done the latter of those two I think I'll update my DA one final time to memorialise my island before resetting and going through it all again lmao. I know this isn't everybody's playstyle and I'm sure I could do the stuff I listed above to fill my time but personally the island designing is my favourite aspect so I'll prioritise that over 'completing' a full island

I've always considered completion of the long term goals as being done with the game. Technically, the museum can count as another long term goal. However, I hate bugs so that's never done. In this game, I'm just going to focus on decorating my island first and then the long term goals if I have energy to spare.

I'm currently not even working towards the Nook Mile achievements or the museum. All I care about right now is decorating my island and that is taking up a lot of my free time. I also still talk to my villagers here and there and occasionally give them clothes I want them to wear, secretly hoping that they will come up with cute nicknames and maybe, just maybe give me more photos. I'm thinking about going back to collecting critters once my island looks the way I want it to, but it is very possible that once that is done I will put the game down for a while.

I’m not focusing on Nook Mile Achievements. I used to try to get each bug and fish for each month, but I haven’t felt like it. For now, I am just enjoying the game by messing around at Harv’s studio and try to come up with some design ideas with what furniture and other items we have. Decorating and collecting furniture has always been my favorite thing to do in AC; I hope to one day be able to fully decorate my island and houses. I have also been enjoying putting together outfits.

I'm not really going for 100% completion of anything. I would like to complete my museum, and am getting pretty close, but I don't worry too much about getting all the fish or bugs of the month. I'd like to get all the achievements, but that's probably never going to happen. Same for diys... I have most, but not overly worried about getting those last random flower wreath diys or cataloguing an air conditioner in 6 colors.

I'm more focused on getting my island looking decent, which is challenging enough. I still have houses to decorate, land to plan out, flowers to dig up... I don't think I'll ever be completely done, and am okay with that.

I'd like to complete my museum (art gallery), nook mile achievements (not actively gunning for it), DIYS (plus crafting the item at least once) and my catalog. I'm a bit more of a casual player, so I don't heavily grind or anything and get what I get sorta deal. I focus more on designing my island.

The only thing I care about completing is my museum exhibits. I'm missing a few things that I'm just procrastinating on at this point. I'd like to do as many nook mile achievements as I can but I'm not too bothered if I don't finish them. Same with cataloguing items and collecting things.

im not worried about completing everything rn, my main goal is to finish landscaping my island cause some areas look terrible right now lol
but i love working towards completion so once that's done i'd like to work towards these goals:

- museum
- catalog
- get all DIY recipes and craft all items at least once
- get all my dreamies and their picture
- nook miles achievements

not sure how much of that i'll be able to actually complete, but i enjoy the process mostly ^^

I was never really concerned with completing my museum. I’ve sold most of my fossils to the shop for bells. I’ve only donated things to the museum when I was there, and I felt like it. I’ve actually completed the fossil portion of my museum on the GameCube version when I wasn’t even trying. I treat this game as a stress reliever, and never try to beat it. In New Horizons, I’ve only tried to acquire items that I wanted and thought were cool, but not because I wanted to complete my catalog. I felt that Animal Crossing was a much more enjoyable game when I’ve played it without the intention of trying to do everything there is to do. The most stressed I’ve gotten playing this game was when I was terraforming and trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my island.
