How far do you want to complete your game?

I don’t think I’ll ever have a “completed” save file or game, because I’m constantly tearing down areas to make new ones. My main goals before NH even came out were to complete my museum, complete my catalogue, and have max friendship with all my villagers. I also would like to finish all the Nook Miles achievements!

So far, my entire museum is complete & I’ve gotten max friendship with about half my villagers. Completing the catalogue is next on my list but I know it’s gonna take a while lol. Another goal was to collect every single DIY, and I’m currently up to date with that too :)

I will feel complete when I finally find Kiki or Lolly. Preferably Kiki, but I'll take whoever I see first.

I only have 1 spot left to fill, so I've been saving up nook miles tickets for one last search. It might take me months to get them if I don't find them on mystery islands. I'll be stuck with waiting for one of them to appear in the campsite, or getting their amiibo card.

I don't think I will ever really complete the game. I went that route in previous games but with NH it's like a totally different experience for me. I just really love utilizing it as more of a creative outlet rather than a chore to complete museum and nook mile goals. I have hundreds of thousands of nook miles, I can imagine grinding for anymore of those things.

I think even when I'm complete with my island renovation and it's fully decorated I won't think it's complete, but I'm more inclined to use my other switch and buy a new game rather than flatten or restart.

The most complete part of each game that I have achieved: GameCube I got my statue erected. New Leaf I unlocked all upgrades but never had perfect town. Switch I have all fossils in the museum completed. I’m ok with the level of completion I’m at.

I hadn't really thought about it until now. I think I'd like to complete the museum, but it's mostly just a fun way to spend some time...I can totally see me restarting at some point, tho. First...I need to get two more villager pictures. LOL that's my goal. Get those pictures.

Complete museum. ✅
Collect and craft all DIYs.
Complete all Nook Miles achievements.
Complete main characters catalogue.
Get all the models from Flick and CJ.
Make alternate characters and decorate all their houses. (Not sure yet if I’ll do all 7 alternates, might just do 3)
Get as many villager pictures as I can.

I have lots I want to do. 😅

Decorate my island to my satisfaction (this may never happen as I keep changing my mind lol)
Complete my museum.
Achieve all 10 dream villagers.
Complete Nook Miles achievements.

Doesn't seem like a big list, but I still have a LONG way to go.

I'm not a completionist. (For some games I play, I would complete everything. But not for AC.) I don't work on collecting everything of anything. I just like my islanders a lot. I have fun every day just interacting with them and making screenshots. They are the reason I play AC. Not the decorating and not the collecting. Just the animals. They bring me joy.

Because of that, I'm going to say that the game is complete when I feel my enjoyment of the game is complete, and I don't derive any more enjoyment from playing it. And yes, it would also mean it's time to stop playing. I don't see that happening in the forseeable future though. 👍

I'd like to decorate my island and houses fully to a place that I'm happy with as well as completing my museum and all the Nook Miles achievements, though this is probably going to take a very long time as often I always feel like something on the island needs improving and I still have quite a while to go on some of the achievements. I also have a list of my favourite villagers in the game so I'd like to have them all at least once on my island in order to obtain all their photos to make the game feel completed for me.

Currently I don't have any aims to complete the catalogue and obtain all the DIYs in the game but if I reached a point where I felt I'd completed all the previous points then I'd probably work towards these to make the game feel fully completed.

I want to
-complete my museum. So far I have all the fossils and a lot of the fish and bugs (but not all)
-Design/decorate my island to look really nice, my island is pretty basic right now, I haven't put any thought into it because I've been focused on paying off my debt for my houses
-This may seem weird but I made/am making two extra characters on my island. One named Stefan, one named Damon, from the show Vampire Diaries Lol. But anyway, I want to design their houses in a gothic type theme,
-I want to decorate my house to look nice
-I want to move in the villagers I want with amiibos, I'm currently working on that
-I want to make a harry potter area on my island, a cafe, and a library
-Complete my catalog
-Get all DIY recipes

I know a lot of that is random but those are my hopes/plans for my island. I'll keep playing after all that's done though because the game is still fun and playing AC is very stress relieving for me because I have an anxiety disorder.

For me I think making a perfect town and saving it to a dream address is completion. Once I got my town just the way I wanted it in New Leaf, I slowly stopped playing the game, even though my museum was only 70% complete. I am really hoping to finish designing my island in NH, and then after that I also want to complete museum since this time I am about 90% done with it. I don't plan on completing the item catalogue, but I am hoping to complete the Nook Miles achievements and DIY collection.

I wasn’t aware that even existed. I can’t catch 3 fish in a row let alone 100.
I think it's called the angle master. I ended up getting it on day 1 because there was nothing else for me to do so late at night lol.

I've never really 'completed' any of the other games in the series. So I think NH will be the same way. Over time I will just play it less until I stop altogether. And I guess that's when it will be complete to me.

I'm a little strange, I consider "complete" as not being able to improve on anything or that I'm content with how my island is. I left New Leaf behind without it being complete, it just happened to fall that way when I bought New Horizons. With New Horizons I am only really focusing on getting my island the way that I want it so I can call it complete, I'm not too worried about the Mueseum or anthing like that personally and I'm not sure why?

I'm only in it for the look of my island, once I'm done I'm done, but I'm actually contemplating on flattening my island and redoing my island lol but idk if I'll actually do that as I'm very lazy and I feel like it'll be a waste to redo it, maybe I'll just flatten parts I don't really like that much but idk...

i’m aiming for 100% completion. i’d like to obtain every DIY, have a complete catalog, donate every critter to the museum, etc. as of right now, i’ve completed everything except for my island, nook mile achievements and catalog but i’m still chipping away at it. :’)

The end is in sight for me. I haven't completed everything and don't need to. After a year of play, I've seen everything offered, and the little additions now don't look like they'll hold my interest, unless Gyroids return. I'll probably keep playing my daily routine chores until the Breath of the Wild sequel/prequel is released, then that cartridge will displace ACNH. If the switch Pro materialises, I would hope for a second card slot...
