How have people IRL responded to your enthusiasm for NH?

I haven't discussed it with anyone offline because I don't see any of them caring about it.

Most people don't know I play. My mother gave me a few funny looks over NL when she saw my 3ds, but I explained the concept of the game and why I liked to play, and she understood. She knows I'm getting NH and doesn't really care.

The few friends who know I like to play games get it, even if they don't like the franchise.

My parents think I?m insane for spending ?300+ on the ac switch and game. They think I?m sad and need to go out, get a life and find a boy friend. -.-

How dare you spend your money on your own accord! /sarcasm

Find a boyfriend one day who likes animal crossing. That'll teach your parents, heh.

I only ramble about it to my boyfriend. He's played some city folk but otherwise knows very little. He remembers every word that comes out of my mouth but has no idea what they actually mean in the context of the game 😂 I love him to bits. He's getting acnh when it comes out because he fully anticipates losing me upon release

This is so weird! I was talking about this topic to my sister the other day. My sister was the person to tell me they were making a new AC but I wasnt on the hype bus yet. It wasnt till december when I started getting excited.

Most people I talk to on a daily basis dont know of it or may have heard about it. "Isnt that a game for kids" really annoys me.

Last week though I found someone at work who is just as excited and I adore spending the day working and talking about what we are looking forward to.

i’ve mainly been talking about it with my friend since we both love animal crossing and plan on playing new horizons together :>

i also talked about it a bit with my mom since i told her what i plan on spending mu birthday money on (switch lite, new horizons & a switch online subscription)

No one really reacts too much lol
The only reaction really is my boyfriend who decided to preorder it for me since I was so excited

The only person I talk to about it is my friends who are getting it release day, and also my boyfriend who has never played an Animal Crossing game but pre-ordered a copy of the game for each of us so he can play with me. I talk about the game a lot during the day, which I think annoys him but doesn't say if it does because he knows how long I've been waiting for this game (he's a huge Legend of Zelda fan and had to wait like 5+ years for BOTW so he knows how it is).

Does he have his own Nintendo Switch, because the game limits you one island per Nintendo Switch. If not, both of you owning the game would be pretty pointless as his copy would use the system's savefile of your Nintendo Switch.

I think my own personal hype for the game has encouraged a few friends to be interested in it potentially. I'm not sure if they'll end up affording the money to have to buy a switch right now though. Other friends I know will be picking it up however so I'm pretty excited to see a bunch of people running around one town with the increase coming in New Horizon.

My wife will play it with me, and is very excited.
She's been a fan as long as I have. :)

Yes, we are aware. I am getting the Animal Crossing themed switch on the 13th and he has one as well.

This too XD

I played a bit of City Folk and played New Leaf like a maniac :') My boyfriend understood, but also looked like I was crazy sometimes, especially when I played in the morning, got a invite from a villager to visit at ... time, so when I whipped up my 3DS in the afternoon he'd be like "but you already did all your daily stuff today, right?" and I'd be "Yeah, but I have a date with Fang" he'd just sigh, shake his head and continue doing his business.

But with my current hype, he's also getting New Horizons :D (^_^) Looking forward to play with him!

My sister also loves the Animal Crossing series, so she's getting it too. My family knows I play, some colleagues and interns at work do to, I am surrounded by gamers (I work in the greenhouse but still XD)

I was told to grow up because I asked for New Horizons for my birthday. :l

That sucks since people of all ages play it.

There was a story a while back about an 87 year old grandmother who clocked over 3500 hours on New Leaf (Pretty sure it was NL). :)

awh yeah i remember that!! that used to be on my instagram explore page a lot lol

None because I always feel like they could care less about it and has nothing to do about their interests. My sister still has approval for the game, though.

I can relate. I wanted a Banjo & Kazooie plush one time but was denied since I was getting “too old” for plushies and yet, some people of older age have one.

I haven?t faced judgement from anyone for liking animal crossing, and even if I did I wouldn?t care because I?m an adult and I do what I want lol
