Reasonably hot because some foods taste better if eaten at that temperature. Warm foods are fine too, but that's the minimum I can take. Any less would require me to reheat it.
Molten hot. I like to eat hot foods straight out of the microwave, oven, or whatever. I frequently burn my mouth on my food, but I rarely even feel it. I only know I've burnt it later when the skin on the roof of my mouth starts peeling. I am apparently not sensitive at all to heat in my mouth.
But I cannot stand hot food that has been left to sit and cool. It tastes unappetizing to me once it's just warm and makes me downright nauseous if it's room temperature or cooler.
I think I might be on my own here but I don't like my food hot. I often let my food cool before eating it. I hate it when I burn my mouth. I do like my tea hot though -cold tea is terrible. I remember when I was young I especially didn't like hot food. My mom would often tell me to eat my food before it gets cold and I'd always reply with but I like it cold
If it's supposed to be served hot, then I want it as hot as possible without it burning my mouth. For the poll, then, I voted for the reasonably hot option.
Also, while obviously some foods are meant to be served at room temperature or are purposefully cold and they're obviously perfectly fine, I will say that I have a preference for hot or at least warm foods.
reasonably hot! ideally I want it as hot as it can be but also I hate burning my mouth (which I do frequently because I'm impatient) so reasonably hot will suffice. the obvious exception here being if a food is intended to be served at a cooler temperature, but in general things just taste better when hotter (prime example here would be brownies)
I don't really enjoy hot food or liquids (i.e. coffee, etc.). I'm super sensitive to heat and hate it when something is too hot. Warm is about the hottest I like food. Cold things, on the other hand, are just fine to me.
This can depend on the type of food I'm eating or what drink I'm having!
In regards to hot drinks I really only drink hot chocolate and tea. Not a big coffee fan, lol. With tea I like it to be hot. I don't think it tastes as nice once it starts to cool so I typically make small cups so it's more likely to stay hot while I'm drinking it. With hot chocolate though, like it more warm than hot. I'll usually add milk or something to it to cool it down.
For most foods I'm generally a fan of them being warm. Or at the very least I'm okay with them being warm/cool? I eat pretty slowly lol, especially if I'm going out to eat with friends because I am a chatterbox. Plus I take tiny bites so that I don't embarrass myself which slows me down as well. I do like soup to be pretty hot though and I only like mashed potatoes if they're hot. If it's fries or cut up potatoes I still like them to at least be warm but mashed potatoes I only like if they're hot. Once they cool down I think they're gross lol. I can't think of anything else I'm too picky about, though!
I like my food warm or cool. I never understood why anyone would wanna burn their mouths/throats eating/drinking.
I've accidentally burned my tongue a few times for underestimating the temperature of my food (not an enjoyable experience). I couldn't taste anything for two days.
if its supposed to be hot i would like it to be so i chose reasonably hot. i dont want it to burn my mouth, but i often start eating/drinking too soon and end up burning myself :/
Hot enough that I have to wait a minute to eat it comfortably, but not hot enough that I'll burn my mouth just from testing it. Does that make sense? Like if I get something and it's not steaming I worry it's not cooked enough, but also if I put one flake of food in my mouth to try it I don't want to scald myself
I prefer my food lukewarm, I can taste all the flavours much better that way instead of just being overwhelmed with 'hot'
I also find it extremely hard to keep food I cook 'hot' for hot food lovers because it seems the moment I put it on the plate it's already not hot enough for them. You stand there stirring the pot for like 10 minutes with the heat on high until everything steams all over the place and it's still not hot enough for them, I give up
I'll also eat food out of the fridge lol
Edit: ok I've been informed that you can warm the plate up first and it'll keep food piping hot for all you dragons out there
Honestly, it depends greatly on the food...and also where the food is from. At home, I actually eat a lot of things cold just because I'm lazy. Lol. If I'm eating out somewhere...I want the food to be pretty hot, just because you don't know how clean the plates and stuff really are...and it's just more assuring to know that the food has been properly cooked if it's nice and hot.
Also...I hate burning my mouth. Not so much for the pain of it...but because it means I can't properly taste things for a few days after...and I hate that. Every time that I impatiently eat something hot and burn my mouth, I always curse myself. Hahaha.
I feel like it depends on the food for me. If i'm going to be eating ice cream I'm going to want that to be cold. If i'm eating pasta I want it to be hot, but not like hot hot burn the roof my mouth hot.
