How Many dA Points do You Think my Art is Worth?

How is it rude lol

I think a better question would be how is it NOT rude and hurtful? Perhaps you should read the sticky for what is helpful and not helpful at the top of the museum forum threads.

I respect your opinion, may I please have the details of the likes and dislikes about them? That would be so helpful so I will be able to improve! <3

I like the first picture in your OP! I don't really like the others, though. I think the lines are way too thick and to be blunt, it's sort of like you free-styled them all without any reference/planning.

Thanks for respecting my opinion, and thank you for being polite! Some people think that replying to a question negatively deserves instant animosity, when it doesn't.

If you have the time I'd strongly advise you to check out some of MarkCrilley's tutorials! He's probably the best drawer that makes youtube content. In fact, I used to watch loads of his videos when I used to draw and it helped improve my drawing by stacks!

(Once you get the main shape of the face/body or whatever it is you're drawing, just remember to focus on the tiny details, as they're just as important as the eyes, nose, ears etc.)

You do realise you've just contradicted yourself by calling me rude, right? Jenna has distinctly wrote in her OP that she wants our opinions on her art (hence the question in the thread title, if that wasn't clear enough for you). Sorry, but I'm not following some stupid thread on how I should construct my opinion on something. If somebody wants feedback on their work then I'll give it to them, whether it's positive or negative.

If somebody drew a picture of a circle and called it a "face" would you compliment their work? Because clearly by your logic doing anything otherwise would be rude and unhelpful.

THIS is helpful.

Aghh! Thank you so much, that's so nice. ;w; I do make more animations, it's just very hard because I have to animate them frame-by-frame in GIMP 2. No fancy animation software, hehe.

how else could you make animations? i thought you had to do frame by frame

this, I don't think it was rude due to, i wouldn't either, I don't particularity like this art.

Well, there's also flash animation, and the process of making it is different, you draw a character and you can change it's pose by dragging the body parts around and the program will animate it for you. It's not 100% the way I made it sound, but I guess it's similar. xD My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Johnny Test and I believe South Park are all made using flash animation.

And I'd like details from you as well. :/

and btw, your animations ar very smooth, i can't do things like this, So I absolutely love that you can do good animating, though, I just don't really like the actual art/drawing.
The animals look stiff, the poses are unnatural, the faces like creepy

I wouldn't pay because they sort of look like paint doodles to me, just work on smoothing your lines and body shape.

I dont know has this site become nothing but sucking up? If you wouldn't pay for their art you're rude lmao

For example these, I'll try to help with a list, first one is first drawing, second one is econd drawing etc

  • Okay, first of all the hearts look really weird. Animals dont just have hearts all over their body and if they did, it wouldn't be like, that. It;d have colors mixed it and it would be furry and stuff. And, the paws look like you just scribbled them on. you can use this [http://tamberella.deviantart.com/art/Big-Cat-Paw-and-Leg-Tutorial-206292792 ]
  • then, the ear on this one looks really weird, It should flow down, ut not that far down, its almost down to her nose. And, the nose is sticking out WAY too far, which makes it look gross. Then the arms ar just, uh, i dont know, so [http://thevirtualinstructor.com/how-to-draw-arms-crossed.html ]
  • This one is a little better but the nose color ;/ and the tail looks like fire, and the head hair is standing up stifly

I guess I saw this coming. I am only 12 years old, ya know? I'm not trying to be a professional artist, I just draw because I like doing it, I have 9 years of experience in drawing and 4 in animating and I think I know what I'm doing. If you are going to say many negative things on each and every one of my drawings, well... you just don't know what you're doing, now do you? The drawings I make are not supposed to be realistic, they are supposed to be drawings of fantasy creatures that I or others have created. (The unrealistic colors and patterns, the sea monster wolf tail.) It's not "critiquing" to call someone's drawings "gross" "unrealistic" and "weird" that's just plain rude, nothing more to it. Now I suggest you get off my thread, thank you very much.

to be fair you did ask for details, but also since they meant for their drawing to look like that, it doesn't have to be realistic to be doodles/art so I think you deserve a break from that part. lol

i just stated why i wouldn't pay for them, but that's me personally and i mean it in the nicest way possible. I did think the animated little animals were pretty cute though.

I actually said older than eight but-- whatev

and, I said no offense, and I'm not trying to be mean, tbh some people say its better to be honest then to be nice, and lie

I'm just going to leave your thread because apparently my honesty is to rude for people to handle, i guess
good luck with your art <3

if what you said wasn't ill-intended and wasn't rude, why did you delete it?

Anyway, personally I would just advise that you work on your lineart the most. The ones where you have clean lineart look much more visually pleasing than ones with thick lineart.

Do you have a graphics tablet? If not, Huion sells some inexpensive ones that are good quality. It should help you a lot if you're able to use pressure sensitivity for your work.

This.

Saying that you're not being rude doesn't make it NOT RUDE. Deer is most likely self conscious about her own art and feels the need to put others down. Whatev indeed. Sigh.

I've seen Deer's work. I didn't comment on her thread.

No, I just draw with my Surface Pro and tablet pen, and I'm pretty happy with that. c:

I use GIMP 2.8
