Or at least as many as you can remember. How many total villagers have you ever had in your towns/islands across games? Has anyone here met all of them/close to all of them?
I can't say exactly. I've met a fair amount of them between my two New Leaf towns and my GameCube town, but I know it's nowhere near all of them. If I had to guess, I'd say probably 50-60 villagers or so.
I've kept a list of each villager I've had in every town (except for my first two WW towns whose villagers I marked off on the same checklist so I don't know which was in which town and I don't even remember having three of them), so I added up all the villagers over all 8 towns I've ever had, and it adds up to exactly 198 unique villagers! Without counting any villagers that I've only ever obtained through amiibo, I've had 186.
Since I've played every game WW onwards, I've had the chance to obtain 392 different villagers (all villagers in NH plus Champ, not counting the special crossover amiibo ones in NL), so I've obtained 50.5% of all of those villagers including amiibo and 47.4% excluding those. There are 12 villagers that have appeared in every game I've played but have never had in any town (13 if amiibo move-ins aren't counted).
Considering I've been playing AC since 2008, I thought I'd have encountered more than that! I guess it's because NL and NH have slow move-out rates.
It's my first AC game and since it's only the total villager you had on your town/island, I'd say uhh... 12.
Wow, that number sucks, I don't really change villagers often, I only recently started to change my original 10.
But if we were including villagers we've seen when travelling to islands using NMT, I'd say near 100.
I tend to get emotionally attached to my villagers and New Horizons is pretty much my first game. That said I think my total count is about 13 or 12, with 5-6ish moved out and replaced
