How much customization is too much?

i think the customisation is one of my favourite things about the game. the permanency of everything is up to you. i personally want to finish my island, and become familiar with it til i couldn’t imagine it any other way, and if, one day, i decide to change up the aesthetic then i’ll most likely do so! you do not have to terraform and i’ve seen alot of islands where they didn’t and it still looks just as good. i think with the little amount of freedom we had in new leaf it’s made me really appreciate the freedom they’ve given us in NH, similar to HHD with the outside stuff. i like that the villagers can’t be customised though, the villagers are what makes animal crossing animal crossing for me, i’ve had beau in every single one of my towns since i started playing the game many years ago, and even just the familiarity of him is enough for me :)

i can definitely respect people who terraform and decorate just as much as the ones who don’t, my boyfriends more of a minimalist and prefers the natural layout of his town and makes it work! i on the other hand prefer to clutter my island with nature and naturey furniture or items, and we can both appreciate each other :) i’d much rather have the option to choose rather than just being told i can’t customise :)

I'm fine with most of the things that can't be customized. After all, things like the native fruit aren't too important but add a bit of extra detail to an island. But please, let us move Resident Services. This wouldn't be as much of a problem if it could spawn on upper levels, but as it is right now you're just stuck with this massive building which creates a gaping pit if you ever planned on having higher ground there.

Not sure if there's anything I wish I couldn't customize. Though the older games are more relaxing since there's less to think about, I enjoy the extra freedom we got in this.
