I recently mentioned in a thread the value I got for my money in this game so I thought I would see mathematically what it was.

So I've played the game for 1150 hours meaning that I have paid appropriately 5 pence for every hour played.

When using the value of 5p per hour, my second most played game on the switch, my time at portia (90 hours) would have cost me £4.50 to buy.

How much did you pay per hour so far?

(As a side note I technically never bought the game as such as it came bundled with the ACNH switch. I already owned a switch but this one was much prettier. So I'm assuming a price of £60 for the game)

I bought the game for £42.85 at launch.
Approx. 460 hours so far.
460/42.85 = 11p per hour (rounded up to nearest whole number).

I consider a game good value for money if I'm paying £1 per hour of enjoyment, so no complaints here.

Haha, this is so funny I just was calculating this this morning!

if I calculate only the cost of the game (since the switch is not only for playing one game, even if I 99% play acnh on mine) it would calculate to about 3 cents (usd) per hour…(just checked and I have about 1800 hours of play time now)

Even if I include the price of the switch I have paid about 20 cents per hour on the game 😅

I bought the game for $80 CAD and I've played 645 hours so thats about 12 cents per hour for me. And I'm still playing so the value only gets better.

Even if I factor in the cost of my switch lite because I did buy that specifically because of AC, it's about 58 cents per hour.

Game was bought for $90.38 CAD, and I've played 455 hours... which would be [insert money per hour here because I don't wanna do math].

Worth it, I'd say.

ACNH is the game where I definitely got my money's worth. When I see people complain about the price I cannot relate in thinking it's too expensive. I've put in thousands of hours. It comes out to between 2-3 cents per hour of playing. Even if this game was $100, I still would have felt I got my money's worth.

I bought my game for $52.94 usd ($49.94 +tax) on launch day. I’ve played for approximately 486 hours to date, so sitting at about 10 cents an hour. I haven’t played in a while but it’s still not a bad price, well worth it considering my Walmart charged $10 less on launch day for it.

The game cost $80 CAD and the Animal Crossing edition Switch cost $400 (both prices before taxes).

I spent 1,575 hours playing ACNH.

Factoring in both console and game costs, I spent about 25 cents per hour of play. For the cost of playing ACNH on the Switch, I took into account the percentage of playing ACNH relative to overall playtime of all games on the console.

Definitely well worth the money!

Wow, now I need to do math 😂 spent far too many hours on the game (approx 1,500?😊) and bought an ACNH switch as well at launch. Tbh with lockdown and the fun I have had and friends I have made this last year I would say priceless 💜

Across all of my player profiles and consoles, I’ve gotten about 1,200 hours on New Horizons so far... that’s about 0.05 cents per hour, if my math is correct. Worth every penny.

I payed $ 420.17 USD (total cost of the switch, game and membership ).

The game was $64.19
The switch $320.99
The online membership family plan for just me ( I needed to be able to use my side characters also ) $34.99

The reason I included all those cost is because I only bought the switch for animal crossing. I haven’t really bought or played any other game , so all of these costs are relevant.

I’ve logged 2,075 hours.

I’m sitting here at work trying to calculate but unfortunately math is not my best subject. Anyone who likes math, feel free to calculate it for me 😭

Anyways, whatever the math is, it’s definitely worth it. I’m still playing.

I bought two switches only to play animal crossing so I have to add them to the cost in addition to two copies of the game. I think that is 720 dollars. I've played at least 1,435 hours between my two islands which I think would be 50 cents per hour. I’m planning to play for a long time though so it’s worth it to me
