i'm in the middle of renovating my island entrance right now, just the beginning of my total-island overhaul. i honestly love the way my island is/was, but it's been so long since i had a reason to change or build anything, i figured it was time to switch it up a bit. well, it's a lil ugly right now, but i'm honestly having fun planning it out!

so i'm curious about the rest of you- have you changed up any part of your island recently? how often do you change things? did the update inspire you at all?

The update inspired me to reset my game for the first time in my animal crossing life. I felt like I worked really hard on my first island and made cool things, but I didn't want to change or get rid of my decorations. So basically I felt like I didn’t have anything to do. I thought about leveling everything and starting from scratch but everytime I saw someone else do that they were overwhelmed with the work and never finished. I am glad I reset at this point though I have had more fun this time planning I think.

I haven’t actually redecorated my island. It’s stayed the same since release. There are a few parts I’ve built and taken down almost immediately because I didn’t like how it looked, but it was more trial and error. I’ve grown attached to a few parts of my island, like the hockey rink.

I don't - after spending so many hours doing it, there's just no way I can bring myself to redecorate it. I do change out a couple if seasonal decorations, but not frequently, just if I'm way overdue to do so. For example, I still have my Halloween graveyard up - that will come down and become who knows what.

I wish I could bring myself to do entire revamps for each holiday, but I can't. Props to those of you who can and do though!

Every month when i saw a really cute design or an inspiring pic. Oh my, i cant stop myself. I already torn my island over 22 times or more.

The bulk of my island doesn't change. I have permanent fixtures I've spent a lot of time getting them the way I wanted them.

I do place seasonal items around, so that part changes 4 times a year. I change my rooms up at the same time, and that's enough to keep me happy.

I still have the main components of my island like my fish market or my jungle temple, but I like to switch out items or apply new custom designs.

So with the new update, I used a lot of glowing moss, vines, the moss/vine DIYs, and other smaller items into my areas. I did tear down my cafe and haven't thought what to build there. It's fun, I like enhancing my areas with the new stuff.

I pretty much never redecorate my island, lol. The last time I did any sort of major (re)decoration of it was when I was trying to get my island to 5 stars, which was over a year ago. I've done some minor overhauls to have a space for rolling up snowboys and to have a farm for the new crops, but otherwise it's been pretty static for a fairly long time. Maybe one day I'll actually redecorate it, who knows.

Because decorating isn't the main reason why I play AC, I mostly don't redecorate once I've decorated. Since last year, my island and every room in my house have remained the same.

But! The DLC has inspired me to redo some parts of the island to accommodate items that I have taken a liking to. These are mainly the party lights, pergola and glowing moss items. Specifically the glowing moss balloons. I've set aside a big area for the balloons. Can't wait to fill it up with a bazillion of them. (It might never happen. I coveted the bonsai shelf since the day I set eyes on one. It took me over a year to find the DIY. I have a feeling I'm similarly doomed for the glowing moss balloons. 😑🥺 )

Usually, I just change the seasonal decor. But with the update, I am slowly trying to change sections of my island bit by bit.

I don't redecorate, I usually just restarted lol. Bad idea, I did it probably like ten times by now.

I flattened my island once and I slightly regret it, but I am kind of happy with my layout now, especially how my town center area looks and navigates. I also have a big lake that grew out of the feature that made me choose my map, so its still there just different. I kept the overall flow as it was from the start I guess.

I'm currently on my second big renovation/redecorating of my island. The only areas that are officially finished on my island is the entrance which I love and will probably never change and my villager neighbourhood which I'd say is now 95% complete. I find that I can't redesign areas in one go and I tend to do little bits when inspiration hits. I'm currently working on my shopping district and when that's finished (or I'm satisfied with it) then I'll move on to my museum which I have ideas for. Also I'm in no rush to complete my island and like that it's a constant work in progress so I can stay invested in the game for longer.

The last time I did any major redecorating on my main island was in the spring when I redid my zen forest. The update did have me rethinking that island so I added a farm. The last couple of weeks I have been trying to terraform my villager neighborhoods but having a hard to figuring it out so that island is now a mess. My second island I have been taking my time with since I started in January I planned it out better so the areas that are done I just change the seasonal decorations. I have one more area on my second island that stills needs work it used to be a farm but moved the farm to a bigger area.

For the most part I dont like redoing things. Maybe its just me being autistic but I want things to stay the same once Ive designed them. The MOST I'll do is seasonal decor in addition to how Ive designed my town

My isalnd had become pretty stagnant before the update and once it hit my whole island changed up. I tend to decorate whenever i get inspired or something looks off and then i focus only on decorating until everything is tidy and then i get into “playing the game”

I barely ever change the general design idea once i’ve picked it, but i do renovate often
Almost every single day i log on i attempt to renovate some part of my island

I reset pretty frequently and redecorate once in awhile. Recently I redecorated for Christmas. I love redecorating once in awhile but changing bridges is expensive, changing paths is time consuming, and changing flowers is extra annoying.

I find terraforming/decorating stressful, even though I really enjoy it. (Go figure.) So my goal is to get my island to an overall state where I'm fully happy with it, and then leave it like that, with minor seasonal revisions/decorating.

... in reality, though? Everything is majorly under construction, and every few weeks I see a cute picture on social media and I'm like, welp, time to change EVERYTHING!

Rinse and repeat. It is fun though. I'm almost not looking forward to the day my island is "done". Thank goodness that knowing me, it'll never come :p

I like to keep things the same, sometimes if I get some new furniture or recipe that might work somewhere I change/add but it's nothing mayor. Mostly I like to extra decorate for holidays like halloween and christmas and that's it. 😂
