how often do you redecorate your island?

I change seasonal decor around my stores/resident services and not much else. I dont terraform cause I'm afraid of messing something up i can't fix. I have changed some things on the rocks at either end of the beach once or twice, turned my pumpkin patch into a flower garden and cleared and area to grow crops. That said I have been thinking about making some changes in the new year(moving buildings and some terraforming maybe). Whether I actually do it or not is highly debatable though.

Right now, not much. I was changing out some decor today by taking down all the autumn stuff and replacing with winter. I find it easier to have a set few items and specific places where I put the seasonal stuff up instead of having to find places for it (like arches, bushes, decor, etc.)

Every few months I'll get bored of a section of my island and redo it, but it's very slow going. The general layout is about the same as the beginning of the game. I have some main roads that would be a real pain to move because everything branches out from them -- so I don't touch those for the most part, unless it's to put down a different path design. I've also redone a few areas and then put it back to how it was. I wish there was an experimental mode for terraforming where we could go back if things don't pan out like we imagine.

There's still a few areas that bother me or that I'm not 100% happy with, but still figuring it out.

I have a few areas I usually change up seasonally. Like, I'll soon be updating my two Turkey Day feast areas into a toy market and a winter cafe. And my fall pumpkin patch is going to become a holiday tree farm. I'll probably keep those up through winter.

Otherwise I redecorate when the mood strikes, or when I want to move a resident's house to a new area. I also did a fair amount of redecorating after the update came out, like I made a nifty Gyroid garden/mysterious ruins area and a carnival area (which changes color for the different seasons).

I always decorated seasonally with whatever was available. Christmas has been my unluckiest when it comes to finding the DIY's and being able to decorate in a decent enough way, and it's soooo slow to start unlike Halloween which you can prepare for from the start of the month and the event itself isn't til the very last day.

It's annoying but tbh I'm still reworking a lot of stuff since before the DLC, which distracted me from what needed doing for ages. So it's kinda nice to be slowly building up my town into something better and making it as Christmassy as possible, like with exteriour house options, villagers' interior and holly for example. So it's kinda like decorating for Christmas every day atm, which I'm enjoying.

I’ve changed my island so many times I’m am currently doing a whole island make over since the new update has brought in so many lovely things. I’m hoping as soon as I’m finished I’m happy with it and won’t want to change to much of it.

I don't really redecorate my island. Granted there is still areas I need to work one. The only area that changes throughout the year is in front of the Resident Services where I match it to the current holiday or season. Everything else pretty much stays the same.

most of my island tends to stay the same year round, as i'm too lazy to change much up so once i've built something it's there forever, but every now and then i get some inspiration to change things up and improve them, or perhaps swap location with another thing. granted as i'm writing this i haven't worked properly on my island in a while, and i'm more talking about my experience on my previous island before i reset. although perhaps that tells you more about my gameplay style - i felt i'd more or less 'finished' my last island and didn't really have the motivation to keep going, so i started fresh!

Most of my island stay pretty much the same throughout the year. I change up some different items to reflect the current season and event, but other than that I don’t redecorate often.

i don't change my island at all, really. technically, it's complete, but most of it isn't "finished" in the sense that it's not filled enough for me. there's too much empty space between the trees for my liking at the moment, but i'm too lazy to get around to it. maybe when winter's over, and the island looks fresh with all the greenery again, although i don't plan to do it all at once -- just one small area every now and again. i just did my little stonehenge + gazebo area since i finally got a blue rose and didn't need the space for my rose breeding garden anymore. i then also renovated my other flowerbed to place down my finished rainbow flower garden and switched out my graveyard for a second farm that the update required me to have. it's the most decorating i've done in a long time, although i didn't do it all at once. generally, i only switch out certain furniture items seasonally -- e.g. i just traded all my pumpkin towers for snowmen, pumpkin lanterns for small christmas trees and my gravestone for a big christmas tree. when spring hits again, i'll switch them back.

Maybe once a year. It is high effort, and I am generally happy with how my island looks.

But its not often because I tend to forget things or I'm just busy

I have been slowly decorating it every time I go on to reach my goal of how I want it to look. I don’t really change it seasonally.. feel like that’s too much for me. Sometimes I don’t even feel like decorating because it takes so much time lol. I just finally finished most of my paths and it took FOREVER

I am always changing mine up all the time its so annoying cause I spend so much time on a part of my island and move on to complete another part then when I walk past the parts I have done I no longer like them anymore so I take it all down and do it again. It turns me off the game because I am so proud on what I have done then I'll see a vid of someone's on youtube and go well yours is poop time to delete certain parts

not often at all, to be honest. i struggle with fatigue and having no energy almost all of the time, plus a lack of motivation and creativity, so i’ve barely decorated my island in general, let alone redecorated it lol. i currently only have two completed areas on my island that i don’t see myself ever redecorating because i like them a lot right now. i may tear them down and relocate them if i decide to terraform my island, but they’ll look exactly the same (or as close to it as i can get) in their new areas. i’ve redecorated my house several times, however, but the last time was months ago, same as the last time i attempted to decorate my island — it’s been months.
